Vibration when trans shifts to 4th


it might be transmission problem,check the oil level or add some trans oil treatment.do a scan test & read the number.

My 2002 Sequoia has a vibration and deeper rumble when sitting idle. This happens intermittently


throttle body cud be dirty wher it opens/closes or motor mounts may be worn or mite b somethin internal---car over 10yr

Way to high RPM and does not kick in over drive.


Regardless of engine, your trans is a 42RE, I'm assuming your have
1st,2nd 3rd, rev, gears, is there any tranny codes, is your car autostick feature,
this could be sensor related, wiring, or internal clutch defect. If you can be
more specific, I will help you out on this problem. PS, 2nd and 3rd gear use
same clucthes to give OD.

1998 GMC Jimmy...4x4 / transmission issues. It started a few weeks ago with poor acceleration above 2500-3000 rpm in any gear. The engine doesn't red line, but it the truck doesn't feel like it is...


Lets take this piece by piece.
The 4x4 switch is defective.
A driveline vibration regardless of engine speed is usually a shaft or cv joint. To verify a visual inspection is necessary.
The poor acceleration in any gear is the begining of torque converter problems( stator or pump).As long as ATF level is correct.
I recommend having a transmission repair shop look this over and preform a pressure test of the main line of the transmission.(it may not be necessary if the condition of ATF is burnt). Good luck

Trans shifts ok but has vibrations though all gears..also engine oil leak at rear of engine.


If your truck is 4WD , try this........ Put the transfer case in N and try going thru the gears , if the vibration is there , could be engine or trans.
If vibration goes away , look elsewhere , could be bent drive shaft , bent axle , bent rim , bad wheel bearing , steering component , wheel balance , or a host of other things. I suspect that it is not the trans because I have never come across something like that before , the only thing I can think of on the trans that would cause vibration would be a worn out input or output shaft bearing. If truck is automatic , could be problem with torque converter , if truck is manual , could be clutch problem.

Losing oil form flywheel end of crankshaft. Already changed seal twice but ain't made any difference. any suggestions?


yes , depending on wheter you talking about torque converter seal or rear engine main seal , on trans if your front pump bushing has excessive wear then it will not seal because the torque converter input shaft will ride on seal more than it is supposed to and also it will not run true, also check TC mounting of flex plate if you flex plate is not centered then it will rotate out of balance and cause leaks and pump damage, if you talking about a rear main engine seal you may have a issue with run out and or bearing wear issues cause seal to not be able to do its job, check all those issues, crank shaft end play as well as up and down play and check rotational run out on TC of trans and pump bushing in trans pump... hope this helps, thanks please rate...

02 jeep grand cher. stays in 1st gear till 4500 rpm's before changing. I replaced the transmission speed sensor and it was fine for about 3 weeks then started it again. Would a shift solenoid sensor help...


Which trans do you have??? The 4.7 has the 45RFE and the 4.0 has the 42RE. If you have the 42RE, try replacing the connector on the output speed sensor. I have seen intermittent problems with the connectors as they get older leading to falling into low gear and not shifting up

You may have a failing drive shaft coupling ant the trans or diff.
