Remove oil pan

oil pan seals can be purchased from any auto store or online, remove the oil pan, remove all traces of the old seal from the oil pan& the oil case, refit oil pan with new seal/gasket in place & tighten bolts in a clockwork fashion to the torque recommended in your owners manual, refill with oil to the level recommended in your owners manual, job done -at home this will save lots of money & can be completed in under 2hours by even a novice mechanic with a Haynes or Chilton's manual.

I have a 2000 w124 230 e automatic. It uses transmission fluid like crazy but no leaks. When I idle the car for a while and pull away lots and lots of white smoke at the back. Engine oil fine but it...

one would think that a person with the wherewithal to purchase a german car would take it to a german car dealer and get it fixed. the labor and parts expense are part of the german patina. if you know anything about cars, take a look at possible vacuum lines attached to the transmission. on cheap old american cars there was a vacuum activated transmission gear kick-down, and often the membrane in the vacuum link would rupture causing transmission fluid to be sucked through the vacuum line and into the combustion chamber and hence out the exhaust. that is old school design and i am sure german cars discarded it long ago, but put it up on a lift and give the tranny a visual anyhow just in case those germans are laughing at us and driving chevies.

2005 toyota corolla Le clock no work

In case it is a power supply problem, I would tap hard on the area just below the clock casing. This usually leads to the illumination coming on and the clock starting. Make sure the ignition switch is on.

Five Germans in an Audi Quattro arrive at the Italian border. An Italian police officer stops them and says "Itsa illegala to putta five-a people in a Quattro !"

"Vot do you mean, it's illegal ?" the German drivers asks.

"Quattro means four !" the policeman answers.

"Quattro iz just ze name of ze fokken automobile" the German shouts ... "Look at ze dam paperz: Ze car is dezigned to carry 5 people !"

"You canta pulla thata one on me !" says the Italian policeman. "Quattro meansa four. You havea five-a people ina your car and you are therefor breaking the law !"

The German driver gets mad and shouts "You ideeiot ! Call ze zupervizor over! Schnell! I vant to spik to zum vun viz more intelligence !!!"

Central locking not working. have looked at fuse-seems ok. have changed vacuem pump-still inactive. any ideas please is there a relay?

there are 2 types of central locking, electric or vacuum, normally germans may use the vacuum on some designs, the other german designs and most of the rest of automotive engineering use electric.  If it used to make a distinct clunk when it was working, it is electric,  the vacuum systems are neat in that the locking occurs with almost no sound.
Get a haynes manual for your car, about $20 from local parst store, amazon, or haynes.com.  It will detail the components in the system, help diagnosis the problem, and show you how to fix it !
There is a vacuum reservoir in many german cars of this genre,  it usually looks like a black plastic case you that you could carry cue balls in (triagular arangement of spheres).   It is indeed a bizarre design if it has a vacuum pump !! most of the time these systems use manifold vacuum from the engine ... and then store this in the triangular sphere vacuum reservoir.

Please  rate all solutions.
