Hi Dineshrao, Take the vehicle and have the wheel alignment adjusted at an alignment center. It sounds to me as if you have too much positive toe in. Regards John

I have a unit of this model, last time i also face to this problem.Maybe you can try to make the aircond delay system out of the main ECU control. this is the way i solved the problem.

SOURCE: CORSA B STEERING FAULT ( VAUXHAL/OPEl)

you could have a bent suspension arm or a tracking problem i would recomend you get these things checked first
if thats all fine i would go to your local brakers yard and get an electric power steering pump and fit it yourself
they are located on the steering column at the top and can be seen if you pull off the trim panel on the right
they are only held in by a couple of bolts

Im having problem with my car feels like theres alot of play in the steering

Play occurs when one or more steering components becomes worn/loose or damaged. Such items could be the ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings, steering rack, just to name a few.

You should have a qualified mechanic inspect your vehicle and replace the damaged components. You may also need an alignment after as well.

I own a 2001 oldsmobile alero, 4 door and 4 cylinder, and my rack and pinion went out. Im needing to know if my car has power assist in order to purchase the part.

if you have power steering then you have power assist as i don`t think gm came out with electric assist until a few years later.look under the hood for a power steering pump this is usually located at the rear upper passenger side of the motor.

Tight steering

hi from the uk from the symptoms you clearly describe ? you aare correct in your assumption that fault is'nt p/steer may i suggest you check the universal joint on the lower end of the steering column it is accessable from under the bonnet or best from underneath car this joint has no lubrication facility ie grease nipple and being hidden away is often forgotten it is a simple enough job to change it and part is not that expensive it is a matter of removing the two nuts+bolts on each end and use wd40 b4 you start it helps loosen bolts/joint leave wheels in ahead position but keep steering lock off so you can manuver the joint off it is usually splined or has a flat mating on bothe steering rack and column shafts ONCE THIS JOUNT SEIZES DO NOT TRY FREEING IT TO REFIT AS IT IS NOT SAFE fit replacement only then i suggest you put a dollop of greas around joint to prevent seizure in future? hope this helps best wishes from uk

We have 80,000 miles on our 2000 Millenia with the following problem, 1.Flashing engine light, 2.Runs a little rough at idle, 3.The steering doesn't feel right..not stable or hunts?

The flashing light and rough engine means a spark plug(s) misfire. I've had that issue before. The steering could be a few things. The ball joint or wheel bearing might be broken or the axle could be broken. I replaced my wheel bearing (pot hole) and the steering was fine. However, I also had to replace my steering rack prior to that incident.

Leaky steering rack?

over 85% of these leaks are just the pressure switch. it is located on the side of the casting near where the knuckle is, wash your steering and check that switch. if you push the wire clip in then gently pull the elecrtical connection off. then remove / replace the switch. Cheers
