Depends on the motor. go to your local library or parts store and reference the manual for your specific engine, make, and model.

Where is thermostac located on my 2005 (inline 6) trail blazer

You did'nt mention what engine you have. The illustration below is for a 4.2L, the most common for the trailblazer.
The arrow indicates front of vehicle.

No brake lights are working; left and right and center brake light does not work

check under the brake to see if sensor is moving in and out. Then check the wires attached.

Timing marks

electronic ignitions have none. the marks are made on inner componets for assembly only
