Question about Cars & Trucks
It means the oil pressure may be low, have a shop hook up a test gauge and verify your oil pressure is good and within factory specs, if not the oil pump may be defective, but that is only a guess. Do not drive this until you get it checked or you risk damage to the engine's bearings from low oil pressure if it is indeed really low and the sending unit for the light isn't defective..

SOURCE: flashig oil light
You either have a loose/worn engine bearing or a worn out oil pump, do not drive the car this way, you will cause serious damage to the whole engine. A oil switch is for a light, it turns on the light when oil pressure falls below about 10 PSI, a sending unit is for a guage that shows oil pressure with a scale, it may have numbers on the guage or just green and red, or high and low.

Have you checked the oil level, is it in the norm?, if its normal and still get light, then possible faulty oil pressure sensor. The brake light... are you disengaging the parking brake all the way?, have your parking brake sensor and oil pressure sensor checked out.

SOURCE: my audi a4 won't start.
that is a safety feature, you have a major problem and it will not start to save you from having a catastrophic failure-if you can get the ECM scanned where the car sits, do that, otherwise the prudent thing would be to have it towed to a facility that can properly diagnose and repair the problem.
