The 1995 and up Jimmy’s and Blazer’s use thesame system for engaging the front diff. They are all made to “shift on the fly” while driving down the road withnothing to do but press the button on the dash. (Do NOT shift into 4 Low while driving at higher speeds at it can dodamage). If the dash light flashes andyou hear a clicking sound that means you have power to the relay. If the vehicle 4 High lights stops flashingand it goes back into 2 High then the problem is likely that you have no vacuumto the 4 X 4 actuator module which is located below the battery tray. Remove the battery and tray; look for a holeburnt in the vacuum line or actuator module rubber diaphragm. When the activator get vacuum it pulls acable that attaches to the front diff engaging it, when engaged the wires onthe front diff send a signal to the 4 X 4 light on the dash telling you it is engaged). If the battery has ever leaked the acid runsdown onto the actuator causing the problem. If no holes found in the hose or actuator diaphragm I would use batterycables and hook up the battery and start vehicle then check for vacuum byputting my finger on the end of the actuator hose. If there is vacuum then problem in actuatoror cable linkage. If no vacuum I wouldthen trace back the vacuum lines to find where it is off or leaking, NOTE: As the heater control operates on vacuum and some other vehicle systemsdo as well bear this in mind, has your vehicle had heater control problems orbeen running rough, this could explain a lot of potential problems. Attached to the hood on the left side(drivers side) on 1997 and older models is a vacuum (a “ball”) canister, newermodels the canister is located in the left fender by the brake module, makesure the vacuum line is attached there. Please rate this suggestion as I never know if it is worth my timefilling these things out…

SOURCE: I have a chevy blazer 94 S10 still quit on the road.

How is it running before it quits onyou. This could be the culprit of an egr valve. How many miles on thevehicle. The egr seems to die on a certain mileage pattern. Also youcould start by cleaning the egr valve before replacing it. This couldvery well help the situation, but this is just a guess. Hope thishelps!!

SOURCE: location of ignition module on 1994 chevy s10

My '94 s-10 Doesn't have a "distributor". Down on the passenger side of the block there are 2 "coil packs" each supplying the spark to 2 cylinders. These coil packs are bolted to the Ignition module which is bolted to the block. There are 3 different sets of wires that plug into it. After going at it the hard way(under the truck) I realized that if I raised the flap in back of the wheel I could get to most of the bolts easier. Hop this helps.

SOURCE: location of drl module 2001 chevy s10

The drl module is part of the body control module,(bcm) located under the dash on the heater box. The drl relay is in one of 2 places. In the
fuse/relay block on the left fender. Or taped to the body harness near
the hose for the rear washer. The rear washer hose comes out of the
bottom of the front washer bucket to the firewall. Hope this helps.

A buddy of mine has a s10 2001 blazer and the 4x4 isn't working, and was wondering how to replace the vacuum hose, if this is causing the problem?

2001 does not utilize vacuum to engage the front axel. A cable is used. There are a few conditions that can cause this. The most likely is the encoder motor. It's best to have the vehicle scanned. The TCCM is located behind the right kick panel, sometimes if it's unplugged and plugged back in, it will begin to work again.

I have a 2001 chevy blazer my problem i have is after driving for more than a hour it start to not want to go even when you have the gas to the floor it back fires put well still run had it in two places...

the ignition module . may be getting hot and results in loss of power. On distributor-equipped GM vehicles, the ignition module is usually located inside the distributor housing. Ignition module overheating is a common problem,
and can cause stuttering, poor fuel economy, power loss or engine shut-off after warm-up. A classic sign of module overheating is a rich fuel mixture, which is indicated by a strong odor of gasoline in the engine exhaust when the engine is stuttering. if light is on get it scanned to find problem code. check with the auto-parts stores in your area, they may be able to test the module for you. this may not fix it. but it sounds like it will. good-day ! if the module tests fine, put in a new one anyway. because old one may have been breaking down under the heat, but usually will run fine when cold. if bad. 2010-05-10_185402_module2.gifthis is a picture of control module 2001 blazer 4.3, let me know the out come ok! control module is #2 on diagram.

Trying to locate the ignition module for chevy blazer s10 1994

Ignition module sits in the ignition distributor, remove distributor cap, there will be two elec. harness plugs, the one with two wire's is for the pick up coil, the other one is for the ignition module, just unscrew module out of distributor and install new one.

1988 chevy s10 blazer 4.3, cut out , will srart but will not stay

Your vehicle as an ignition control module located on top of the distributor (under the cap and rotor) I would pull the ICM and take it to NAPA and have it tested if bad replace it (cost about $80). Sounds like a ICM problem or it could be the ignition switch located on the steering coloum which can't be tested but costs $20. Hope this works
