My nissan murano wont start after oil change

I did an oil change on my car last night. I emptied the oil, replaced the oil filter and air filter. I used 5w 30 synthetic pennsoil. after I finished, I started it and let it run for about 5 minutes before I went to the corner store and put in a fuel injector and filled her up. I drove back home and turned her off. It was running fine up until the morning came. I tried starting it and it only stayed on for a few seconds before it slowely died. whats wrong?

Sounds like it could be a fuel pressure problem so i would check the pressure to see if its within the specs first and go from there.

SOURCE: 1995 nissan pickup truck fuel problem

Fuel injected or carb? Make sure fuel line itself is clear. Some pumps are designed to self regulate (carb systems) some continually pump and a psi regulator sends back the excess fuel back to the tank (fuel inj systems) If the line is obstructed then pump can't deliver fuel fulltime.

If you think pump is not on consistent, try running a dedicated wire through a switch directly to the pump. If it works then you are looking for an electrical fault going to pump. Good luck.

SOURCE: 2000 nissan xterra wont start but will crankover

my truck didn't do the crazy idling so much but it was running a little rough before it finnally died. it just wouldn't start back up. i changed the fuel filter i could hear the fuel pump working i finnally pulled a spark plug out and realized it wasn't getting spark. after hooking a computer module up under the dash it told me that the camshaft position sensor was out. the sensor is integrated into the distributor therefore you have to change the distributor to replace the sensor. hope this helps some, i'm actually trying to fix mine tomarrow

How to change cabin filter on 2009 murano and what would the part number be

you shouldn't need any tools but empty your glove box. there's 2 pins on the hinge side of the glove box. slide those out and carefully drop the glove box down. you will see the filter door. simply open and replace and put back.

the first time may take some time but it's pretty easy and the second time you should be able to do start to finish within 5 min

2004 nissan murano low 3 quarts oil. no sign of a leak and no smoke.

Hard city driving during the hot summer can and will cause a bit of oil usage. 1 qt in 500 miles is not excessive. If you recently changed oil and are using a different brand this also can cause a bit of oil usage, due to the engine getting used to it. Add to full and keep a good ck on it, it should level out. if not check your air filter, pvc valve, and any vaccume hoese.

Check the airbox and make sure all hoses are tightly pushed together around it. More than likely the air filter was checked and one of the hoses came loose.
