SOURCE: While driving my 2004 ford explorer it is starting

It can be several things. With the problem only occuring when power is applied you must have a problem with the Right Hub engaging when it should be off. Or depending on your 4 wheel settings the Left Hub is not locking when it should match the Right.

The rear suspension can also be the problem. There are Rubber bushings in the Rear suspension arms. If there is looseness or travel in the joints the rear axle can shift under Power. This will allow the rear wheels to run crooked. This will make the front end of your Explorer turn to one side. On some models the rear wheels can be aligned and have Shims in them. Sometimes the shims can fall out causing the axle to pitch to one side.

There are many things turning in the frontend. But most will pull all of the time if they are failing. The problem you describe limits the possibilities to the parts I have mentioned. Good Luck on your repair.

I am having the same problem. I've done some research and I think it is the VSS, vehicle speed sensor, if you found any more information Id appreciate you passing it along.

Why does my car overheat from cold start after travelling only 5km to boiling point ?

probably
the hole could be from a rotten radiator core in which case most of the cores could be blocked
replace the radiator and have a compression test done as it could also be a head gasket or cracked head
it is possible that the previous owner cooked the engine from the coolant loss and you got the lemon

I have a 3s 2000cc egine, the problem is high fuel consumption. Imagin 1lt only going for 6km. Please help.

Hi there,

As you have not stated the vehicle MODEL or Year of Manufacture, I will provide a 'general' solution:

There could be numerous causes for high fuel consumption, but if you have used this amount of fuel in such a short journey, there would have to be leaking fuel somewhere.

However, the only true method to measure "ACTUAL" fuel consumption (disregard trip computer) is:

- Completely fill tank to a pre-determined point inside the fuel tank filler tube.
- Set your cluster Trip Meter to: 0000
- Drive vehicle for 6 - 15km and return back to the same gas station pump used previously.
- Completely fill tank to the same point inside the fuel tank filler tube, where filled previously.
- Note the quantity of litres required to fill to that same point in the filler tube.
- Divide the litres used, by the total Km travelled on your Trip Meter.
- If the value calculates less than 20 (carburettor engine); less than 15 (EFI engine), then consumption is acceptable.

Note: if value is above these numbers, then you have a fuel leak, or a problem with your vehicle's carburettor adjustment. EFI engines can have numerous causes, including electronic sensor faults etc.

Cheers,

I noticed lately my 2006 Innova diesel lacks pulling power. It has only 74000 km distance travelled but decided to change the entire clutch system, change oil filter and drain and cleaned the tank to...

i would reccomend a fuel additive every 40k to clean injectors/lines,if this dont help then you will be spending some money to rectify.by the way, dropping the tank does only required when water found in filter assembly.oil filter should be done every 15km.when you change oil.clutch when slipping occurs.otherwise you dont get the full life out of them...my car has 120,000 miles on the clock with the original clutch, not unusual.....

Your carb may need cleaning. I had the same problem with my Astra. If not then there is too much air getting into the engine.
