I see this solution and have some additional questions. It seems removing the front casing requires removal of 2 screws and then somehow pulling out the instrument cluster. Is there anything specific i will need to do regarding the airbag and such I would hate to have that go off on me. this prizm does not have a tilt steering wheel thanks

It's more likely a fuse is blown, the tail lights are on the same fuse as the dash illumination, check the tail lights if they are not working replace the fuse marked 'tail' in the fuse panel on the inside at the left side of the dash under the cover. At the same time check the 'gauge' fuse', there is a fuse location diagram on the cover.

Dashboard lights are not working

Hi,
There are several parts involving gauges illumination light problem.

  • Check your gauge light fuse first, if it is blown. replace with the same value if you found its blown.

  • The light switch assembly, the internal contacts are either burn or dirty, it will requires a replacement or opening the whole assembly to clean it.

  • Check the rheostat control, its the one that controls the dimming of your panel light, might be broken or burn and disconnected terminal.

  • Check the pilot bulb in your gauges, over the years filament might already busted, needs to take out the whole gauge panel and opening it and replacing the bulb.

Hope that helps you out!

My Sienna 2004 dashboard lights won't come on, tho

do the gauges still work? if they do then it might be a loose wire for the illumination bulbs, or the bulbs are burnt out which will need to be replaced. If the intire cluster doesn't work then check fuses and relays and remove the instrument cluster and make sure the wire connector to it had no cuts and is tight.

How to replace corolla dashboard lights

Difficult to explain step by step. You need yo remove the instrument cluster. If youre technically minded its not very hard, start by loosening the Phillip"s head screws that is visible on the panel directly under the instrument cluster, give it a try!

The dashboard has lights inside to illuminate the gauges. It could either be LED or bulbs. You need to open the dash to get to the gauge. In most cars, the lights can be replaced from the back of teh gauges.

the instrument pannel has to be removed and there are several bulbs that illuminate the pannel and all of them will not blow up at the same time by accident you might have turned the dimmer to all the way off
