Question about 2005 Lexus ES330

1 Answer

2004 ES330 two rear window are not working.

The fuses are ok. There are power that I can hear the clink sound. The question is how to test it in order to replace the switch or the motor? It is knid of odd because the windows were hardly been used. They went out within 5 months apart.

Thanks!

Sounds like the glass, or motor, may be stuck from lack of use. Try having the key, or car, on while sitting in the back seat. With the door open, hold the window switch in the down position and close the door kind of hard. ( I don't want to say slam the door, but that's pretty much what you should try). If the glass doesn't come loose, you may need to have it checked out by a technician. The rear windows are known to stick on this model/year, and Lexus did have a service bulletin about it. However, it may also be that the door ECU's are faulty.

My two 2005 ES330s both developed similar problems at about the same time. Too much coincidence for motor or mechanical failure. I heard clicking when trying to open the windows, indicating the electrical was good, and I had checked the fuses (#50 and 60). I got my rear car windows going today, and here's what I did:
Bump the windows along the top edge with bare hand,
(I would only use a tool if really needed - nothing sharp)
    Turn on car engine,
Sit inside in back, while holding the window button down (to open window), slam the car door closed (firmly). Release button.
If window does not operate, repeat. I repeated 4 times on one, 2 times on the other.
Don't hold button too long as motor, if engaging, will overheat and need a cooldown.

This worked for both my rear windows, and when the wife gets home I'll try it on her car.

Future: there is a bumper kit sold for this problem. And I didn't roll the windows quite all the way up.

Hope this helps, I'm a happy guy having saved big bucks.

Driver power window operation

I would go through and check all fuses and relays, i have seen strange things like this happening before. Though, if you can hear the relay and the motor is in working order then chances are the fuses are good. I would also check the door jam where the harness goes through, make sure nothing is pinched or worn through. The way i would diagnose the problem: with the door panels removed and the switches hooked up, toggle the switches for the front and rear door to see if the motors are trying to turn and its not window gears that are jammed. then i would unplug the switch to test the leads to make sure its getting power. then, test the output for the switch to make sure its sending power. then got to the motor and test to see if it is receiving the pulse. also, unplug the connectors and clean all the leads and apply some dialectic grease corrosion can cause this issue...

The sliding rear window on my Ford 2004 F-150 does not work. I have listen for humming or clicking when I press the switch, but hear nothing. I checked what I think is the fuse for this and it was good....

Is this a 2004 Heritage / Lightning or a New Body style 2004 ( like the 05-08 MYs ) ?
The fuse is the same one for the power windows.

Might want to pull the overhead console, and test the switch for the rear slider

2004 honda odyssey rear window passenger side won't open

First check fuse #7 and #16 in the passenger side dash fuse box, however I've seen this happen allot on this body-style of Odyssey's. Here's a quick check you can perform: Operate the rear vent window switch and listen for a 'click' in the rear of the van next to the vent window. This is the relay 'clicking'. If you hear the relay 'Click' you now know that your getting power in the circuit. This means that the vent motor is faulty. This is a common failure and they usually go out in pairs, so the other side maybe on its way out too. If you don't hear the 'click' than you'll have pin test the multiplex control circuit for a fault.
-hope this helps

The rear windows have stopped working and cannot find where the fuse for it is.

this problem is caused by the body control module, the dealer will have to test the functuion of this module.
