Question about 1996 Honda Accord
I have a 96 Honda Civic DX 1.6L SOHC. I am blowing a fuse. It is fuse 15 (7.5 amp) that controls the speed sensor, primary and secondary heated O2 sensors, evaporative emmissions valve, and the charging system(alternator, electric load detector, charging system indicator...). At one point in time it was blowing the fuses as soon as i turned the key to the on position, other times it was not blowing until I drove the car, but every time it happened with less than a 15 minute drive. When it was blowing the fuse right away I unplugged the speed sensor, two O2 sensors and the evaporative emmissions valve one at a time to narrow down the problem. The fuse still blew even with all of those things unplugged. Currently the fuse is not blowing right away and I am unsure if it is ok to try to drive with my alternator unplugged, to try to narrow things down further. I also must note that the alternator is newly replaced. I am stumped on how to narrow down the problem, please help. Kevin
Kevin, chances are that when the new alternator was put on. The wires were put too close to something either hot or that it can rub on. If you do not find that this is the problem then return the alternator to the store and have it tested for internal problems. Bad Alternator can do this. Good luck
