Your engine is toast. The black smoke indicates more than likely your valve seals are leaking oil into the combustion chamber or the piston rings are shot.

SOURCE: my truck loses power

In most cases it is the fuel filter. I don't know when it was changed before, but it should be changed at least every 8-10 k miles. Make sure you change the air filter too.

SOURCE: 2005 chevy silverado v8, some hesitation, rough

Black smoke could mean it is running rich, have a scan done, it is probably an engine misfire code and it will tell you which cylinder is misfiring. the last digit is the cylinder, unless it says random missfire, It may be time for a good tune up and don't forget the fuel injection system, Clean out the intake and do an induction cleaning on the injectors.

Spark knock-

Is the check engine light on ?
The computer should be able to adjust ignition timing to stop the pinging if it really is spark knock. Its possible you have an ignition timing problem, or low fuel pressure.

1998 eclipse 2.0 non-turbo i get this knocking wen i start the car but wen i drive it the knocking stops at 2000 rpm it sounds like its coming from the timing belt. i changed the water pump and timing belt...

Did you make sure the balance shaft belt was ok? Double check to make sure the timing belt is in time and tight. They have a two step tensioner that must be set in a certain order for correct timing.

Will it hurt my engine if i dont replace my knock sensor

definately,
It allows the engine to run with the ignition timing as far advanced as possible. The computer will continue to advance the timing until the knock sensor detects pinging. At that point the computer retards the ignition timing just enough for the pinging to stop.
A knock sensor assures that you're getting as much power and fuel economy as is possible from your engine.

Why does my honda accord smoke reel bad

This is either worn valve stem seals or worn out oil rings. Have someone follow you if the car smokes more as you release the throttle on deceleration it is most likely valve stem seal if it smokes more on acceleration it is worn oil piston rings. If the smoke is white you have a blown head gasket blue smoke means burning oil, black smoke means too rich (to much gas reaching motor)

Where is the knock sensor and how do you replace

The knock sensor is most likely ok you need to do a top engine clean to get the combustion chamber presure down so the knock sensor can ****** the timing enough to not knock or ping, You may not here the ping but the knock sensor does. Go to a GM dealer and buy a can of top engine cleaner warm the engine up and pull vacuum line off the back of the throttle body and allow it to **** the full bottle into the engine then kill the engine. let sit for 20 minutes hook up vacuum hose start the engine and rev it up to where it will still run let it run for 10 minutes till smoke clears out then take it for a test drive after you drive it 10 or 15 miles you should notice the check engine light not cumming on and the engine ill run smoother and the fuel millage will go back up, afterwords change the motor oil and filter to get rid of all the carbon down in the oil pan. If this does not fix it then change the knock sensor, it has 4 wires running to it and is on the side of the block left side. If you replace it be sure not to tighten it to tight if fact use a tork wrench to tighten it or you will break the ceramic disc inside the sensor.

I have black smoke blowing out the exhaust wen i step on the gas

I own a 2004 F-350 with the 6.0 Turbo Deisel...My wife has been driving it periodicll arround town and had mentioned from time to time it seemed to not want to get going. Well yesterday I went and picked the boat up and on my way home the truck lost all power and was spewing black smoke. After reading a few blogs I decided to pull the EGR Valve.. It sits right on top of the engine (from the front bumper looking at the engine) just forward and to the left of the oil filter. Two 8mm bolts and it comes off ( rotate back and forth while pulling up). The EGR valve was covered in soot and partialy in the open position..no matter how far I manually opened the valve it stayed in that position.. After checking the price of a new EGR ., I decided a little home remedy was in need.. I let the valve portion of the EGR ( the lower porting, NOT THE ACTUATING PORTION) soak in fuel over nite. Cleaned the soot off and lubricated the valve shaft. Actuated the valve manualy an few times and it began to spring closed beautifully..A tad more touch up cleaning..reinstalled the valve and was able to hear a feel a noticeble difference in the way the turbo spooled up... no black smoke .. and running smoother... Quick fix..easy fix.. so easy I plan to make this part of my oil change ritual... pull the valve .. clean and lube... HOPE THIS HELPS ! !
