SOURCE: constant high heat

on climate control press off and heat button and let go quickly. Then press automatic. The display will start rotating eventually displaying a code 025,125 , 024 etc. Then press defrost to stop. You may hear blend door operating atb that time. It worked for my climate control.

SOURCE: how to replace blend door actuator in a ford

I recently did mine, I hear you can do it without taking the entire dash apart but I had no luck with it myself. I have to get ready for work but, on mine it was located down and to the left of the radio. its a white box...are you hearing a clicking noise or something? I had to roll the entire dash back and it was still a major pain getting it out.

Location of blend door on heater assembly on 2001 navigator

The blend air door is located INSIDE the A/C-heater housing assembly.
The blend air door is controlled by an electronic actuator. It could be that the actuator is malfunctioning. It is pretty easy to replace.

Since your Navigator is most likely equipped with automatic climate control, you may also have a problem with the interior temperature sensor. This could make it do what you are describing. Sometimes, a defective sun-load sensor can also cause this.

Then again, you may even have a broken blend air door (pretty common for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury products). If this is the case, the instrument panel must be removed to repair it. (HUGE JOB!)

I would recommend scanning your computer network to see if there are any HVAC fault codes before doing ANYTHING. There just might be a fault code to tell you what the problem is.

Air conditioner blowing hot air

Blowing hot air when set to A/C is almost always a stuck blend door, dead blend door actuator, or a cracked or disconnected blend door actuator vacuum line. The blend door is inside the a/c ducting under the dash, but the actuator will be accessible outside the ducting.

My a/c is ice-chill but for some reason, my 2001 lincoln ls doesnt warm up with heat. could this be a minor fuse problem or a huge expense problem

THEY HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH WHAT THE CALL A BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR MOTOR ASSY... THIS IS AN ELECTRIC MOTOR ASSY THAT MOVES A BLEND DOOR IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS TO DIVERT AIR THROUGH HEATER CORE OR THROUGH AC CORE.. THIS IS VERY HARD TO REPLACE BECAUSE IT IS BEHIND THE DASH NEAR FIRE WALL... THE BOOK CALLS FOR 6 HOURS LABOR TO REPLACE... HAVE TO PULL COMPLETE DASH OUT
