My 94 jettas power sterring seems to fail in the rain from slipping !is there a chance the could be a cover missing and can be replaced?

Yes. there are suppose to be lower covers to keep water from spraying up on the belts when it is raining.I would check to make sure all covers are present and also make sure tension on belt is good as well.If all covers are present I would check into replacing p/s belt and having it adjusted properly.Hope this helps

2002 dodge grand caravan sport belt squeals when it rains

The serpentine belt tensioner is a spring loaded device that pulls the right amount of pressure to keep the belt for falling off, as well slipping.

This unit has a short life span, that of the belt, and in most cases it is recommended that it should be replaced at the same time as the belt.

I am 90% sure this is the issue.

I hope this helps

Why does my belt on my 1993 new yorker pop off in the rain?

Could be a couple things. All pulleys should be in line with the belt. Any pulley, like the power steering pump, or AC compressor, alternator, etc...could be slightly out of alignment causing the belt to rub and when wet it is slippery enough to pop off. Another item could be the tensioning roller "or ideler roller" is not adjusted to be tight enough to take slop out of the belt. This would make the belt lose and could also jump a pulley....let me know if any of this helps??

My belt keeps slipping off, but only when it rains. I find it hard to believe that water is getting up in there because I do have the covers on. Could it be the tensioner? Again, it is only falling off...

It could be the tensioner or an idler pulley (if equipped).
I'd check the alignment of any pulley where the belt's back...runs on a smooth surface.

Hope this helps...

After rain I drove van heard water sloshing up front. Then passenger side floor got flooded. Thought ac drain hose was clogged. Crawled under car and only hose I found had wires coming out of it. Is that...

no its not. the drain comes out of firewall directly in line with fan belt. its supposed to have a rubbwr elbow athached to it to keep from derailing fan belt in the rain.

Serpentine belt keeps falling off in rain or snow

make sure you have the right belt first off. if you do make sure its tight. you can probably tighten it with the alternator or the idler pulley

Serpentine belt keeps popping off

Check alignment of the belt and check the condition of the belt because once it comes off it will continue to come off because the strands in the belt are broken.

Serpentine belt keeps slipping off when it rains.

I have had the same trouble with my 2002 zx2. I have had to reinstall or replace the serpentine belt 4 or 5 times in less than a year. I have replaced the idler bearing and then the water pump went out which took out the belt as well. The belt still came off after replacing those items when I hit another puddle of water. I found that proper installation of the plastic engine splash guards which bolt to the bottom around the motor play an important roll in keeping out road water. Since the pulleys are accessible with the right front tire removed, I focused on securing the plastics tightly around the wheelwell framework. This has helped extremely in keeping water away from the pulleys. I haven't had any more troubles in the last 7 or 8 months. I'm still leary when driving in the rain as the routing of the serpentine belt on this car is the worst I've ever encountered.
Bottom line, check/replace idler bearing, tensioner if needed and make sure all plastic splash guards are there and properly screwed to the frame and each other.
Hope this helps.
