Question about Smart Cars & Trucks
First you should what is your car bulb type, such as HID Xenon Light H4 bulb. And open you hood, there is a rubber grommet the size of a coaster thats where the bulb is located. unplug the plug (squeeze the side of the plug and it should slide right off)
remove the grommet. just pull if off away from the headlight.
the bulb is secured by a spring clip push the clip towards the front of the car and move it to one side to get it unhooked from the headlight housing.
pull the head light bulb out. replace with new head light bulb (MAKE SURE NOT TO TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE NEW BULB)
secure the bulb with the spring clip.
put rubber grommet back on
plug the harness back on the bulb.

SOURCE: Replace headlight bulb
actually according to saturn you must remove the front bumper to remove the headlight to be able to replace the bulb,,,if you got small hand you can remove the front part of the inner fender liner and go up thru there and do it,you cant see it ,, you gotta feel it,yes dumb idea i agree,i gotta work on them all day

For 2008 + it is very easy , look at the from grill , you will find 2 latches on the top corners of the grill. Pull from the inner corner , then you will be able to open the top panel of the front section which allows you full access to the headlights , replace the bulb , then put the top panel back and lock the latches.
