Check your vacuum lines for leaks. You can look at them all, although there are a bunch. Another option is to keep the engine running at idle and spray water out of a cleaner type bottle at the engine and see if it bogs down. That will allow you to pinpoint the leak. Another potentially more effective way to find a leak is to use carb cleaner and spray the lines. This can be dangerous as carb cleaner is flammible. I would recommend water. Hope that helps

WHY DOES MY ALLISON TRANNY NOT SHIFT RIGHT ALLTHE TIME

Its likely the electronics and sensors inside the tranny.
Take it into a reliable tranny shop and pay for a diagnosis (only).

02 Ford Explorer, trans rebuilt 7 months ago, over drive light flashes after a period of time, but no check engine light on, and once you shut car off & turn back on, it is fine again for 30 minut

moved you out of suzuki, rice burners. to grengo's fords.
night and day. diifr.

you failed to use a scan tool and see those Tranny TCM.
DTC error codes, that be first.
scan it.
the tranny tcm sees gross errors. and goes to limphome mode.
that is what all newer cars do....

scan, if you dont scan it, its HOPELESS !!
or gee get it serviced? and not guess and wonder any more.?

Shifts in and out of over drive and shifts very hard in all other gears

this sounds like your tranny is low on flewed if your vehice had a dipstick for the felewed check it to see if its low if it is make shour that the vehicle is on level grond and fill the tranny to the full mark onthe stick (remember if your cars engine temp gage is on cold fill to the cold mark)

to fill the tranny fill it little bit by little bit not all at once and have the engine running while filling after putting in a bit of flewed get in the car and shift threw all the gears slowly then check the dip stic and put in a bit more if needed and shift the gears agane and do this till the tranny is full wate a few minits then shift the gears agane then take the car for a short drive around to see hoe itshifts threw the gears

i hope this helps

the first thing you need to do is park your vechicle on a level surface a make sure the trans fluid level is to the full cold line if it is not fill to full cold line with vechicle running and in park the retest

I have a 2001 camaro that wont shift out of 1st gear and the speedo does not work either. i just put the engine and trans in out of a donor car (a 2000 camaro) both had 3800 series ll engines and 4l60e...

thats an interesting problem, i would be looking for either a pinched wire or i would also look at the plastic gear on the end of the vss they must be the same color and they should be interchangeable if the are not the same, and while you have the vss out look inside the hole where it goes and make sure the drive gear for the vss is still intact inside the tranny. The reason the tranny does not shift is because of the speedo not working the computer needs to know how fast the car is moving to determine the proper shift points for the tranny.Hope this helps

IT IS NOT GOING INTO NEUTRAL. IT HAS LOST THE DIRECT DRIVE CLUTCH PACK INTERNALLY. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS HIGH MILEAGE. IF SO AND YOU CHANGE THE FLUID IT CLEANS UP ALL THE VARNISH IN THE TRANNY AND THE END RESULT IS TRANNY MALFUNCTIONS DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF CARE IT HAS HAD IN THE PAST.

2001 Hyundai Tiburon automatic transmission problem

Okay, I baught an 01' tiburon last march. When I first had trouble with the tranny it wouldnt shift into fourth and no it wasnt the overdrive button. Then it started downshiftling like what your experiencing then I lost reverse. Ammco rebuilt the tranny. I would take it to them, they will inspect it for free. You may just need a tran fluid flush. You should know that in the automatics the tranny is the weakest part of the car. The engines are great, just everything around them seems to fall apart after 120,000 miles.
Ammco offers a free inspection service. However Just from experience - if you need a new auto tranny it is cheaper to buy one already rebuilt (with warrantee) and pay to have it installed than to rebuild the one you have.
Cheers to hyundai challenge : )
