Hi, When you put the new belt on I hope you did not move the timing marks out. You can distroy your engine if they are not lined up properly.
That is why you should have had it done by a pro. (machanic)
Good luck.

I have my doubts about the belt being installed correctly. Is this an "Interference" engine and the belt broke? if so the valves are bent.

SOURCE: what mileage should i have my timing belt changed on my 2000 toyo

your owners service manual should tell you , most cars and trucks are around 80k for timing belts and I am not sure if it is a intererence. just remember when doing the timing belt do the tensioner and pulleys as well and water pump if driven by timing belt and all seals cam and crank. timing belts are one of the most important maint issue and most people dont until its to late after it has broke.

Car turned off, & now wont start

You can't have ANY Exhaust leaks BEFORE the
Converter or you won't get rid of the PO174 or have control
of injector pulse or fuel trim
You have a timing chain -no belt
Better use 5W-20 Full Syn Oil if want the
VVT Cam Actuators to last
All those codes are ignition cylinder misfires
All you have done so far is preventative maintenance,
what some call a tune-up which by the way ended some
25 years ago or more.
You have done nothing to diagnose the codes apparently
& find the cause of the fault codes
You have misfire on both banks no matter a V6 or V8
Easy to figure out, need a repair shop or study those
codes on the internet.
Check for vacuum hose leaks EGR etc
Forget the PO300 & 316 they are of no use to you
Do not use it until resolved as you don't know if you
have a Class A or B misfire that could damage the
converter
O2 Sensors ( front ones) get replaced at 100,000 miles
You need a good battery- the motorcraft are okey & made
by johnson controls, but only last about 4 or 5 years.

no your timming belt broke!!! now if you have a interference engine you will need a new car!!!
the only way to know is if you search your year make and engine size of your car..
you better hope its a non interference engine .. than just change the belt.. good luck. this is a basic timming belt photo . engine-start-distributor-turn-rbr12kxjqsqvwnu2khrshnjz-4-0.jpg

I have a 2001 chrysler voyager with a 2.4l engine. it cranks but no start. no check engine light

From a(Retired Chrysler Tech) If prior to changing the T-stat & belts you were experincing a no start,Then afterward it started & ran fine until you again worked in the same area as before, The first thing I would do is to check any and all electrical "wiring" and or sensors & switches in that same area, If your vehicle is equiped with a crankshaft sensor it may be at the front of the engine in close proximity to the harmonic balancer,"crankshaft pully"& the wiring my be routed as to be easily moved while working in the belt area..pay close attention to the condition of the wiring. any wires that are exposed(bare) must be repaired or replaced. check for loose plugs at sensors. Be meticulous in your search, the smallest thing will create a no start in this type of set up.

2008 pt cruiser - check engine light came on, within minutes it started to "power down" and and died. Won't start. What could cause this? BTW have changed spark plugs, camshaft sensore, cranks

My PT did that when my timing belt broke. It cost $500.00 to replace it. If it is broken, be ready to have some motor work done. I had to have to values replaced at a cost of $900.00. If your timing belt is not broken then check the alternator and battery. I was riding down the road and my PT shut all the way down and would not start. I had to leave it beside the road. It was my alternator. It gave me no warning.

Timing belt broke . installed new one ,now auto back fire's. won't start

Did you get it timed correctly? You don't just replace them like a fan belt, there is a procedure and marks that you line up. Your engine may be a non-interference or interference which means that if your timing belt breaks your pistons may hit your valves and cause major engine damage. Non-interference means that when the belt breaks it won't interfere and cause damage. Interference means that it will. I don't know what engine you have in your car but if you call a dealer and tell them what engine you have in your car they should be able to tell you if it is a non-interference or interference engine.
