SOURCE: 2000 kia sportage ex, 4 cyl.

Many of the Kia sportages have a problem with the coils.

There are 2 coils for each 2 cyl and they are located under the middle platic cap on the valve cover.

These coils will set a check engine light that blinks when misfiring and stays on steady when the motor is running smooth. Autozone or Advance auto have a scanner that can check all engine functions and will show a problem with # 2 and 4 cyl.

The coil packs are $39.00 to replace but check the codes first

Where is the horn fuse for a Kia 1999 Sportage?

The Horn relay is in the relay block behind the driver's knee airbag. You have to unscrew / move the driver's knee airbag to expose the relay block.

200 kia sportage, wont start wont even click. Took out the battery and put it in my other car, it starts it, kia does nothing,.lights work, all electrical things work, no starting , now what?

check for fuel and spark. if no fuel, spray starting fluid in throttle body. if it starts then quits, its a fuel problem.then check fuel pump relay and or fuse to pump. have a good day !! you may be able to switch relays with another one to see if thats it. but the relays have to be the same number as the old one.

Horn

No the Chevy Malibu is not made by Kia!
I think you mean horn relay
I would try a new relay it is possible that the relay is defective and that's why it was removed
here is how the horn circuit works
The body control module (BCM) controls the horn relay by grounding the control circuit of the horn relay coil. When the horn relay coil is grounded, the horn relay contacts close, applying voltage to the horn via the horn supply voltage circuit.
if the horn relay does not fix your concern you may need to take it to a shop and check for any BCM fault codes
and you are correct having no horn is a SAFETY ISSUE
that car should have NEVER PASSED A SAFETY WITHOUT A HORN
hope this helps good luck and I hope the relay fixs it because a BCM is costly

Removal of battery

hi in order to remove the battery u need to unscrew the two nuts on the top and than pull it out .. sometime the nuts are jammed so just put some wd40 or little engine oil and after 3 mins or 5 just try to unsrew it again and it should come out fine..if not only option take it to any garage..if ur car not starting because battery stuffed.
just get ur mate car and pull battery out ..connect ur car leads and start the car..
once car started just un plug ur battery cable and just keep both cables seperate for it wont spark..
your car still remain started the only thing is that you wont be able to use horn or lights and few more electric items..
should work.. i did it before..

2005 Kia Sportage kills when release of gas pedal

Sounds like a faulty engine warning light and a problem with one of your vacuum hoses. This is difficult to find. Probable just an old cracked hose or loose connection. Propose this to your dealer. Just keep taking it back and tell them to check all of the vacuum hoses and the computer. Good Luck
