Neither key fob for our mazda 6 unlocks the car. A red light flashes on the fob, so I'm not sure it's the battery. Is there some way to reset the system so the fob works?

all you have to do to reset the coding is hold the lock button down for a minute or two till the locks click locked. then test it again by unlocking them. if the button light flashes rapidly then the batt is low, which will affect the distance for use. (do the re-code right next to the vehicle for best results.)

Electrical fault

Malsmed,

Does your mazda have a central locking unit in the boot? If so then follow the wiring if you can to the fuse block and see where the wiring goes into and check the problem their? If that does not solve the then check the central locking unit in the boot and the ECU unit behind the fuse box.

Hope this will help you
