Go here to see if an owner's manual is available for whatever this is, you never gave any specific info on the car.

How to operate window wiper on back door

lost the operators guide?

pdf page 203

quote
REAR WINDOW FEATURES
Rear Window Wiper/Washer
A rotary ring switch on the control lever, located on the
right side of the steering column, controls operation of
the rear wiper/washer function. Rotating the center of
the switch up to the DEL (Delay) position or the ON
position will activate the wiper. Rotating the switch ring
beyond the ON or OFF position will activate the rear
washer. The wash pump will continue to operate as long
as the lever or ring is engaged. Upon release, the wipers
will cycle three times before returning to the set position.

I Have a 97 Ford Explorer XLT 4 door with power windows, the windows and wipers stop and start working at the same time, has anyone seenthis before?

what does that mean.
1: active window and wipers move , or reverse.
2: or i must turn on both to get either working??????
or????? be more clear. please.
all wipers move front and rear.?
and all windows do this or just one?

Shot gun effects:
and forgot to do the tests. and that meant you missed bad connections.
money to burn?
the FSM book covers this 100% read that. see those tests.
guessing works like 20% time? shot gun, 50%. leaving what?
wires and connections and bad fuses,(hair cracked)

ill look up what wire that is using alldata.com
so can you , hint?
pardon my shock but never knew folks did shot gun fixes.. wow....
pay a tech 1hr labor for him to tell you what it is ?
I know , you live in the jungle forest like me.
here we go, there. alldata.

fuse 16 runs the
here is the left front, window.
the GEM controls both wipers and windows. so , my guess
bad GEM or the inputs to it are WRONG. (basic logic 101)
be more clear on what works, here, and dont. all windows and all wipers front and rear and what this means.
at the same time

2002 ford duel cam overhead engine

definately a short somewhere tracing will be tricky but here goes,is there a roof mount aerial above the dome light ? if so take dome light down and check for signs of water ingress ie corrosion on the bare metal parts etc,if no roof aerial move to the fuse box in engine compartment ,take the lid off which will have a list of the fuses/relays look for one's that go with the components acting up check them for corrosion ,will have to remove the fuse/relay to do this ,only take one out at a time so dont get any mixed up,then check the fuses inside car under dash drivers side particulary the window and wiper if nothing found get the OBD codes read and forward me the numbers , this might take you 10 minutes to sort or hours

Gate light on my Jeep liberty is on, gate is closed and locked

The gate light on my 2002 Liberty was on for a long time and I researched on this site about it but ended up just hitting the trip meter button after starting up and that canceled it out. The other day my rear window wiper was not working and my security system had quit working also. Looking at the book in the fuse section I found that the rear window wiper is on it's own fuse, number 17 in my 2002. I took that fuse out and looked at it and it seamed good, no break or burn marks. I replaced the fuse anyway and low and behold the rear window wiper worked, the gate light went out, and the security system was working again. I could not find a fuse for the security system of the gate light.....they are all on the rear wiper fuse. Problem solved, hope this helps you, I found it purely by accident.

My driver side window wiper works but passage side doesnt and I figure if one works it must not be the motor. I replaced my back lights on passage side and only the break light works but not my turn signal...

If you have only 1 motor controlling your wipers, then something is broken somewhere inside your motor. Since when the motor turns it uses the same gear to move both wipers. Maybe the rod came apart in the motor or broke. Can't say for sure because I don't know your exact set up but 1 motor means you narrowed it down to 1 place. Good luck.

The back brake light and the rear window wiper doesn't work. I checked the fuses but none of them say they are for these. Where are the fuses for these on a 2001 jeep cherokee?

Your best bet is to buy a 12 volt test light turn on the rear wiper and check the fuses one at a time if it has the mini fuse just ground the tester then touch each side of the fuse on the top if the light lights up on both sides it's ok if it does not then replace it, The fuse cover itself should have it on the back side of the cover or the owners manual will have it.
