Question about 1996 Cadillac DeVille
1996 Deville sat for a few months...shifted fine before parked, now it won't shift out of 1st gear. Any suggestions? Codes are AC1312, TC0023 & RS0038 current. There are a few other codes but they all say history.
Have the transmiision serviced with new fluid and a filter. Also do a OBD2 ele ctronic system control fault code test with a scanner or code reader.

dont know what exactly is the problem but all those codes are not the problem the best way is to have some tranny shop to scan it they have the chips to go inside those codes and see which one is broken , i had simular problem all the codes came up i changed parts that i did not need to change but after i found a tranny specialist i paid for my 99 sts $250 changed couple speed sensors one lose wire and done , so be careful try some other mechanic.

SOURCE: 2000 Deville running good when
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you check out the spark plugs. If the spark plugs are corroded, covered with carbon or has big gaps this issues occur. You may have good fuel supply but no good current to burn the fuel, spark plugs can be the answer.
If plugs are good or new, Try going for the plug wires. You may have a worn out plug wires that's why there's insufficient current supply. Have it replaced if it's worn out.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
