SOURCE: 2006 Sonata ESC Off Light

I had the same problem at 35,000 miles. I would be driving and suddenly the ESC Off Light would illuminate. It would disappear if the car was turned off, only to reappear after a few miles of driving. It turned out to be a faulty "brake light switch."

SOURCE: car alarm randomly goes off

there is a hood switch located at front passenger side under hood. check to make sure the plunger at hood is pushing the switch completely down. sometimes there may be just enough clearance that a strong wind will set the alarm off.

SOURCE: sometimes my 2008 sonata won't

It sounds like this could be your fuel pump sensor also as mention in the earlier post the click could be the pump relay reseting allowing the pump to come on to deliver fuel to the engine. You may also want to check the ignition relay in the fuse box under the hood, a weak relay can heat up and need time to reset before letting the engine start, at the dealership they may not give it time enough to heat up to cause the problem. When the problem occurs again turn the key and listen for the pump to come on if it does come on, then move to the next solution. Hope this helps.

My check engine and ESC lights are on in my 2007 Kia Sedona LX. Code P054 - likely cause? Does it have to be a dealer fix? Car's performance doesn't appear to be affected, handles great thusfar,...

Well, I would like to help you but P054 is not a valid code. There are not enough digits for it to be a valid OBD code. I would recommend reading the code again and make sure you post it correctly if you want help with it.

As for the Check Engine light and the Electronic Speed Control (ESC) light being on, this means that there is a malfunction in one of the many systems that are monitored by your Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM has also disabled your ESC (A.K.A. cruise control) for whatever reason.

It should be noted that although the problem does not seem to be affecting the way the vehicle drives, it is very likely that whatever is wrong is going to destroy some high-dollar parts like the catalytic converters if you don't get it fixed.

As far as getting it fixed at the dealer...It all depends on EXACTLY what is wrong. Most OBD fault codes can be serviced by anyone with the correct information for the code involved, providing they have the equipment and knowledge to properly diagnose the code. Codes that involve reprogramming of the PCM to fix are usually better to have done by the dealer. In these cases, the reprogramming can be done under emmissions warranties for free if the vehiclle meets certain criteria.

Won't start. Turn the ignition and nothing. The engine light comes on and the auto theft light comes on for a few moments and goes off. I tried the couple things suggested in the owners' manual...

if nothing happens when you turn the key the problem is most likely the ignition switch and housing(had mine replaced 3 times already. firstr time at 12,000 miles) what you can try is hit key with rubber mallet while trying to turn but this would only be to get it started so you can drive to a chevy dealer(dont waste your time at any old repair shop for this). Hope this helps.

2008 trailblazer the emission light goes on and the the car shuts down when driving, it takes a few time to start again and the light is still on. I had it service 2 times andthey tell me nothing is wrong....

most likely a failed throttle body. does the light on the dash say Reduced Engine Power? If so then your throttle body has went into "forced power limited" mode. All 08 Trailblazers have electronic throttle bodies, I would see your dealer if i were you.

2009 Altima Hybrid shutdown

I just had the same problem with my 2009 Nissan Hybrid, this happened once in the parking lot and once on the street, I took the car to the dealer Friday October 16, and they found nothing wrong.
It is a dangerous situation, especially if it happened on the freway at high speed.
