The only thing that could cause this is that the brake shoes are not adjusted correctly and travel to far before hitting the drum.

SOURCE: parking brake pedal goes to floor

The disc brake pads are NOT used for the parking brake. The parking brake uses mini-drum type shoes inside the rear disc rotor.

I have a 2005 ra crew cab 3.5L v6, it feels like the brakes are on when I select 4h. What is the cause?

Most Likely different tyre wear, or sizes, between front and rear wheels. The rodeo locks the front and rear together there is no differential between front and rear.
fuel use, wear and tear, and control are all compromised, if this is the case.

I have replaced both my front brake pads and rotors, we have bled and rebled all the lines to make sure there wasn't any air in the lines by using a special tube thing to do this (sorry but I am not...

brakes can be a pain to fig out. first thing that pops in my mind is air in your lines. your van has ABS on it, you have to bleed your brakes a certain way. what im thanking is air in the ABS pump. alot of cars, you bleed your brakes RIGHT FRONT then LEFT REAR then LEFT FRONT then RIGHT REAR with ABS also the set up you are using to bleed your brakes if you dont use it right it will let air back in to your system. make shur your calpers arnt leaking

i hope this helps if not just let me know and i can give you some more tips

Hi oakleafwoodw, sounds as if the brake master cylinder has busted a seal allowing the brake fluid to leak by cylinder when you push the brake pedal giving you no or very little pedal pressure....it is located under the hood on the drivers side firewall, you will see all the brake lines attached to it , remove those and the two bolts holding it on,take it with you to auto parts store for a rebuilt one , they will keep your core for rebuilding, other wise you pay a core charge., verify that they have the one you need before hand, get a quart of dot 4 brake fluid, hook it up, and bleed air from the brake lines starting with wheel cylinders in this order Right rear......left rear.....right front.....left front...making sure to keep fluid level topped off in the master cylinder during the whole bleeding process or you will pump air into lines....OK!! caution: you should not drive it until you have good brakes!! you said they still work but if you had to stop suddenly ,it won't do it.

Put in brake fluid but cannot tell if there is a leak or not

After you put the fluid in the brakes start your blazer keep it in park or in nutral with the parking brake on and then push as hard as you can on the brake peddle using the steering wheel as leverage. This should pop any brake line that is leaking a little bit but not enough to pop any good lines. If the peddle slowly goes to the floor check undernieth the vehicle for any signs of leaking. If no signs of leaking look under the hood where the brake master cylinder is and check for any leaking around the mounting surface. If no leaks there check inside the vehicle where the brake peddle goes threw to the master cylinder for leaks on the inside, this does happen from time to time.

check under your master cylinder,is there another clyinder below with one line in and one line out,if you do I found this is for the Abs to the rear,I had to replace this it was full of air,and did exactly what yours is now

Replaced brake pads on 2005 chevy malibu, and brake petal still goes to the floor

It take a few full brake application for the brakes pads to adjust there self and check the brake fluid level. Top off as needed with DOT 3 and be safe.

Your car is in a dangerous state. DO NOT DRIVE IT. Some one could be killed. That car must be put on a car hauler and taken in for emergency brake work.

Rear brakes might be locked up???

Firstly it might be an idea to release the brakes so you can get the vehicle to a suitable place for repair. Something has gone wrong in the brake master cylinder or the pressure valve (if fitted) although I suspect the former. The hydraulic pressure can be released by loosening the nut on the brake pipe that goes to the rear brakes or undoing the bleed nipples on the rear cylinders a couple of turns. Try to bleed the brakes enough to get them working and then drive to a place of repair. Otherwise remove the master cylinder, strip down and repair or replace.
