Question about 1999 Kia Sportage

99 kia sportage-won't start

Yesterday a mechanic told me that I needed to change the fuel pump. I asked someone to lend me the money (single mom with a 6 month old) for the fuel pump and now the car does not start. Please help--if not just please pray for myself and my daughter-I am desperate.

I have a renault clio 1.2 t reg. failed on the co emissions yesterday was .6 what is the best way to fix this

There are plenty of fuel system flush chemicals on the market and a local auto store will probably recommend one to you. That and a good service of plugs, oil and fuel filter will generally do the trick if there aren't any serious under lying problems.

Fuel float/sending unit/fuel pump

The float and sender are a single unit, sold as a unit. The fuel pump and strainer are then attached to the sender unit. In the end its a one unit, its just that the pump and sender are sold seperately. Maybe this helps:)

I need to change timing belt is it hard to change I am a single mom and cant afford to pay a mechanic I am going to attempt to do it myself please help mom with no money

It would depend alot on the make model and year of the car, and your mechanical ability. You should first buy a repair book and study the procedure to see if you think you are up to the challenge. And if you have the right tools or not. A timing belt job is not for the average DIY.

Have the fault codes read to determine the faults.. Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to determine if there is a problem in the fuel system

My 1999 Kia Sportage won't start. I put a new fuel pump in replaced the car battery . Need help please...

Im dealing with a similar situation. But have found that I have no spark. By opening the end of the air intake and giving a little squirt of starter fluid and no start. Opened access to FP and pulled a hose. No fuel. So no fuel no spark. reading lots and lots of forums I have come to the conclusion it is either the Cam or the Crank sensor. The crank sensor is easier to get to and cheaper. I am going to check that first.

2002 kia sportage fuel pump needed replacing so we did and now car won't go

There maybe an air lock in the fuel line.
Try pouring a little fuel down the carby and then start the engine, you may need to do this a few times until the air lock is cleared.

99 kia sportage sputtering under acceleration

Hi Missippirebe, I think you should replace the fuel filter and if the problem persists check fuel pump pressure. It should be at around 3.7 bar. Regards John

My expedition has been sitting forover 6 months now since a good friend stole mykeys and moved away. I am a mother of 4 and really cant afford the dealer ship so I have been asking my mechanic and he said...

Have your mechanic check the fuel cutout switch. During heavy cranking sometimes the switch will cut out and not let the engine get fuel. If you hear the fuel pump running this of course is not the problem. There is a fuel pump relay on the driver's side under the hood in the engine compartment. Your mechanic can bypass the relay to insure that the fuel pump is working but it is not suggested that you have this for a cure ONLY A TEST.

Correct me if I am wrong.A new pump was put in.Mechanical.The old pump was mechanical. For the last 20 years it has worked. Now they say a new pump isn't going to work? And its mechanical.Mate! Sounds like someone is having a lend of you.I would really question the work they have done. The pumps are just about bulletproof.Chase this up.Hope this helps
