Question about 2004 BMW 5 Series
At times, I cannot start the engine. I have to continually mess with it and eventually it will start. Frustrating.

starter motor solenoid problem by the sounds of it, check the connections are clean and secure, give it a tap with a soft head mallet or hammer handle. If it doesn't spring back into life it will need replacing.
