The first thing i would do is to make sure there are no leaks, start the truck and let it run , take a walk around the truck and look for a leak. the filter if leak will drip on to the ground, in the middle on drivers side of the truck, but look under the truck for any leaking

SOURCE: Fuel Smell in Car

I had this problem.  The fuel pressure regulator was leaking gas.  $50-$100 for a replacement.  It is not safe to drive around if you have a gas leak - could start a fire. Look under the hood to find where the gas is leaking, should be easy to see/smell when the car is running.  If you cannot find it, take it in to a shop right away.

SOURCE: smelling gas fumes in car after fuel pump was replaced

it is likely that the access plate that the pump is under is not sealed, most likely the O ring seal got installed wrong or cut and gas is leaking by it, not enough to drip on the ground but enough to smell.

The smell i'm having is not the raw gas smell , it smells exhaust fumes getting in the car. i checked for exhaust leaks buut had none

if inded the smell of exhaust is getting into your car i would suggest not driving it until it is properly checked by a licensed meachanic. it could be entering through your heater/AC blower and in return be fatal if left untouched for a period of time

Smells like gas when sitting still and when u open the hood its plug that the fumes are seeping through its two plugs but only one is seeping through

that plug probably goes to your fuel injector, if you replace the fuel injector it will stop smelling like gas
