So my 2005 mazda rx8 is in the shop, my cadalic

So my 2005 mazda rx8 is in the shop, my cadalic converter went out got it replaced and now their saying it won't start first they said they THINK its the coal then spark plugs then starter now their trying to tell me they THINK the engine could be blown. i got it at 99,000 miles with no problem what so ever i haven't even put 1,000 miles since I've had it i also got them to computer scan it nothing but the cadalic converter was wrong with it. I'm not able to get to my owners manual but my mom said a light came on that looked sort of like a river. what symbol does that represent in the indicator lights? Also another mechanic gave us hia opinion said it could very well happen being the converter caused back pressure to the engine causing it to blow then told him what kind of car and it had a rotary engine and he said we should be weary because they could be trying to keep our engine then we remembered the mechanic working on my car saying his employee has a mazda truck and he's been trying to get a rotary engine for his. opinions and answers on thw indicator light would be greaaattt.

I would not let them sell you an engine. The river design could just be traction control problems. Looks nice on photo. If money was not an issue, I would say load it onto a car carrier or wrecker and take it somewhere else.

You need a second opinion. Also, depending on State Law, some car lots must give a 3000 mile, 30 day warranty unless you bought it from a private owner. Check your laws.

SOURCE: 2005 mazda 3 2.3l that is burning oil (no leaks)

possibly the pcv but check if your cars exhaust smoke is blueish or white in color if it does and your car doesnt have an oil leak then sure its burning engine oil along with fuel, the piston rings is defective, since you replaced engine oil the additive that the owner has put with the oil to prevent blowby is gone thats why it starts burning oil.....

The mazda rx8 is hard starting and not idling properly. How do u set the timing for the rotas. Do u have a diagram

there are no timing on the rotors for a wankel engine. The timing is controlled by a computer for the RX-8. The sensors & distributors can be adjusted on the RX7's & other Mazdas but I know that there were major engine changes to the RX-8 so I can't tell you for sure. I use to have an RX-7 and worked on it all the time.

Had a question bout my mazda rx8 I was driving it one night it was running fine the next day went out and it won't turn over it takes awhile bit it finally starts and idles real rough and you give it...

Too many possibilities

Won't turn over is one problem -battery,cables,grounds,

Idles rough-- vacuum leaks, spark plugs never replaced,
egr valve etc

Worn O2 Sensors
Dirty MAF Sensor
Old Fuel Filter

You have to go into a lot of technical detail & history
on your vehicle, for us to even guess.

My 2005 rx8 turns over but doesnt start

I have a 2004 RX-8 and had the same problem. Mine ended up being that the ignition coils went bad. I've read on several forums for rotory cars that the ignition coils are a huge weak point and should be replaced around 30-40K on the odo. For all four(new) I paid 125 or so and fixed the problem right away. It starts better now than it ever has. Took me about 15 mins to change all four out.

Hi to all ihave mazda rx8 2005 model and it start

you have a big issue the cyclinder is firing due to a timing issue. You will need to check if the timing belt, the ignition system is aligned to accurate settings. use a strobe to check for timing result according to the manufacturers setting.Or else you will need to check for defects in valve/cam settings.

Mazda RX8 starting problem

Check that your battery is fully charged. If it does not sustain a charge , replace it. Clean the cables and battery posts with baking soda and water mixture. About 1/4 cup to a pint. If it still does not turn with a fully chared battery, it is probably the starter that is bad. It will have to be replaced. One click usually means the starter is bad. Several clicks usually means the battery is bad.
