Fallow your Top Radiator Host toward the engine, The thermostat
should be at the end of that hose. Be sure you replace the new one
just like you took the old one out !!!

Can taking out thermostast stop car from heating

No. The thermostat opens when engine reaches a given temperature. Taking it out means engine is cooled. From starting so engine takes longer to heat to proper working temperature. If car isoverheating it could well be thermostat is faulty and not opening. Take it out and hang it in a saucepan (not touching ) as water heats the status should start to open. If you've a thermometer check it opens at stated temp( stamped on stat eg82 degrees Celsius. If it does not open by 100 replace with a new one.
leaving stat out should stop car overheating but is not advised for too long.

Ya I have a 2002 Nissan sentra, the car temp gauge goes to max heat ,,but its blowing cold air inside the car ,,,and im already in cold weather ,,got any ideas" could really use some help!!

yeah, low on coolant, or a blockage in the cooling system. I would do the thermostat first, should be simple and fairly inexpensive.

Where is located the thermostast

The thermostat should be under the housing where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine.

My instrument panel gauge shows overheating, i let set for an hour and it ran great for an hour drive home no indication of overheating. the next morning when driving to church gauge showed engine...

Does it run LIKE it is overheating? (rough, high/low idle, etc.)? Have you recently had work done to the car, specifically the cooling system? Have you checked the overflow/surge tank to see if it is at the proper level? (check when cold). Does your heater work when it is 'overheating'? Possible reasons for your symptoms are (in no particular order) air in the system (improper filling of system when thermostats installed), improper installation of the thermostats, low coolant level, defective coolant sensor or a defective gauge. Blockage in the radiator, or heater core is another possibility.

Where is the thermostat on 1992 lumina and how to change it.

The thermostat is under the neck where the top radiator hose hooks to the engine. Take out the 2 bolts, then remove the neck. The thermostate is right there, just pull it out. When you go to replace it, make sure you clean both surfaces of the neck and engine first. Put in the new gasket and thermostat. Use a little silicon. Not alot. Just a little bit. Usually the thermostat is marked as this side up. If you put it in upside down, it won't work.

My fan do not turn on when the motor is hot i would like to know were is the thermostat is located

The thermostast does not control the fan. You should check the fan to make sure it is operational first. Fuses, wiring, connectors, and the fan itself. Then if all is good start looking at engine oil temp sensors or coolant temp sensors.
