I have a 1989 pontiac 600 LE, 2.8 liter. I accidently let the car run out of gas. After that it wouldnt start, we replaced the fuel pump already and the car still wont start, I think i have burnt the Fuel Pump Relay Switch and I have already bought the replacement but I dont know where the old one is to replace it. Where is the Fuel Pump Relay switch. Ive already taken my dash apart.

There is a fuel pump reset switch under the dash near the lower heat ducts at the floor.i think on the drivers side but it has been a long time since i done this.
i had similar problems with my 1989 as well as the wife's 1990....my problem was freyed wires near gas tank as well as fuel pump relay...the wife's was relay as well.try to follow fuel pump and relay wires test along the way. hope this helps!!
Have you replaced the fuel filter? Sounds a bit restricted...also you may have a bit of sludge in the bottom of your gas tank...use gas and water removal treatment additives...I have enjoyed owning more than 15 Trans Ams...:) Worst cause would be fuel pump fading...:(
Underneath your hood, behind the passenger side headlight, behind the core support, is a bank of 2-8 relays. One of those relays is the relay needed for your fuel pump. There will also be a fuel pump relay fuse located there. The relay designation should be on the cover of the relay compartment.
