Question about 2004 Oldsmobile Alero
The best way to explain what my 04 Olds Alero is doing is it feels like I'm driving a standard and letting off the clutch to fast. It's an automatic and has died on me about 4 or 5 times now. I am at a complete stop and begin to accelerate and thats when it starts to hesitate and buck. I've had a throttle body clean done a little over a month ago and that hasn't seemed to help any. I had a computer put on it and the readings for the TPS and IACV had low readings. I understand by one of them being off, it will set the other one off as well. Could this be the cause of it jerking around like it does and which one would be my best bet to fix first? Oh and the car has about 130,000 miles on it. Not sure if thats going to make a difference.
Inside trhe transaxle is a convertor lock up solenoid. When these go out, the transaxle acts as you describe. I would have this checked and / or replaced. Hope this helps and rate me high.
