SOURCE: cd error
I hate to be the bearer of bad news... that error code means that you have a CD that's bad in the 6 disc changer.... If you're handy... you can take your radio out and manually remove the cd's and make sure that the 6 trays are aligned properly and not stuck together. (known issue) However, Lexus/Toyota does NOT repair ANY of their electrical components. They want you to pay for a NEW one at the tune of 800.00 PLUS installation... and they send the old one back to Japan and remove the CD's and mail them to you. (at no extra cost... as the service rep was telling me.. as to benefit feature me on the sale of the replacement unit.) Next be ready for the "Disc Read Error, Check Disc" on your navigation... lol.. it's a 2.10 motor that moves the lens that reads the DVD navigation CD.. and once again .. they don't replace or repair... that's a 4500.00 item plus installation.. GOTTA LOVE YOUR EXPENSIVE CAR NO? ;)

SOURCE: CD player Error 3
I have different experiance with the C.Dplayer ( error 3 ) , there is no need to remove it nor send it to the dealer ,all you have to do when you have `` Error 3 `` is to reset the C.D player , by recycling the power supply ,this can be done by disconnecting the main car battery power supply , you must also keep the battery disconnected for at least one hour . then connect the cables to the batteries ,when you start the C.D player you will hear some clicking sound ,and watch the numbers of the C.D`s in the display you will find all what is inside has been detected by the display .
and your C.D player is back to normal..
i discovered ths by chance , when I had this error in the past ,coincidently I had to replace the battery and after installing the new batteries ,i was suprised to see the player back to normal condition by its self.

Seeing how it won't detect the CD and everything else is fine it sounds like the laser eye went bad. Also if you have only tried 1 CD try 2 more different ones but you probably did.If someone else suggests try cleaning it with laser eye cleaner or whatever it's called, don't bother. There's not much that can get in there to dirty it up to the point of not working. It's probably a factory stereo correct.Either way it will probably cost a minimum of $100 for repair. Also after it is repaired, because of disconnecting the power it will need to be unlocked which can be done simply by calling a dealer,no cost to you.Write down the method and code though because every time the battery is disconnected it has to be done.If you would like a more accurate cost estimate, call United Radio Service in Syracuse,NY.I worked there about 12 years ago. They are on the net, toll free number.Ask for car stereo repair.Tell them your type radio/model radio and you were wondering how much it would cost to replace the laser eye. They should give you a fairly accurate estimate. When I was there,I think the eyes were $60,and any repair center has a minimum 20% parts price markup,$40-$60/hour labor, probably $10-$15 to ship it wherever, normally free return shipping.
Actually here is their link.
Good luck! Greg

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com. Open the fuse box under the hood. Find the audio fuse. Pull it out for 2 -10 minutes to reset the CD player. Now plug it back. If this does not work just change the fuse. Your problem will be solved. Please get back to us if you have any further query. Have a nice day.
