Hi, I've done this on my F-150 before. You will need a special removal tool to do the job right, it doesn't cost very much. The hardest part for me was getting the filter out of the bracket on the fuel rail.

This article helped me...

I have ford f150 1989 4speed manual 5.0. It's jerks I can't fix it. I have put 2 new fuel pumps, did the whole tuneup, new tps censor, new erg valve, new ignition coil, and it's still jerks.

Did you check the fuel pump pressure before and after the pumps ?
You'll have to figureout if it is a fuel or ignition problem.Isthe check engine light on ?
Usually a "jerking" engine is an ignition problem.
You have a distributor and an ignition module that could be the problem too.

Can you explain the steps to change the fuel filter on my 6.5 Diesel GMC Blazer.

Hi, to change the fuel filter, follow the steps below.

Disconnect the negative cable at the battery.

Loosen the fuel tank filler cap to relieve any fuel tank vapor pressure.

Wrap a shop towel around the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and remove the dust cap from the valve.

Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve.

Install the free end of the gauge bleed hose into an approved gasoline container, and open the gauge bleed valve to relieve the fuel pressure.

Flush the fuel filter line connectors with water, and use compressed air to blow debris off and away from the connectors.

Remove the fuel inlet and outlet lines from the filter following manufacture recommendations (have something around to catch gas that is in the lines and to lay the lines in while prepairing to put new filter on.

To install a new filter, begin by wiping the male tube ends of the new filter with a clean shop towel.

Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male tube ends on the filter.

Check the quick connectors to be sure the large collar on each connector has rotated back to the original position. The springs must be visible on the inside diameter of each quick connector.

Then install the filter in the proper direction and leave the mounting bolt slightly loose.

Install the outlet connector onto the filter outlet tube and press the connector firmly in place until the
spring snaps into position.

Grasp the fuel line and try to pull this line from the filter to be sure the quick connector is locked in place.

Then, do the same with the inlet connector.

Now tighten the filter retaining bolt to the specified torque.

Once everything is connected, lower the vehicle, start the engine, and check for fuel leaks at the filter.

Where can I find the fuel filter on my 2000 Hyuddai Accent? I have changed the spark plugs because the car would not start, either cold or hot engine. The car is now starting but not immediately.

Want to change the fuel filter? I will provide you the steps on how to replace the fuel filter. This is how to do it.
1. Remove the lower rear seatcushion by pushing the two small black retaining tabs--located on the bottomfront of the seat--while pulling the seat cushion up and then forward. Pry upthe inspection plate, located below the seat cushion, using a screwdriver. (Itmay be necessary to cut the black sealer used to attach the cover with a sharpknife before prying the cover out.) Be careful not to break the wiring underthe cover. 2. Disconnect the fuel pump wiringfrom the fuel pump by squeezing the locking tab on the plug while pulling up onthe connector. Start the engine and let it run until it stalls. 3. Disconnect the negative batterycable from the battery, located in the driver side front of the enginecompartment, using a 10-mm wrench. Position the cable away from the battery toprevent accidental contact while the fuel filter is being removed and replaced. 4. Depress the quick disconnectbutton located on the end of the fuel lines and twist while pulling to removethem from the old filter. Unclip the filter from the bracket it is snapped intoand remove the fuel line on the bottom of the filter. 5. Push the fuel lines onto thenew filter until they snap into place. Reconnect the negative battery cable.Prime the fuel filter by turning the ignition key to the run position and backto the off position three times. This will fill and pressurize the fuel system.Start the engine and check for leaks. Reinstall the fuel pump cover and rearseat.

WHERE IS THE FUEL PUMP ON 2001 GRAND MARQUIS IF INTERNAL HOW DO YOU GET TO IT

Not sure where the pump is right now I would say it is in the tank, someone else said it is in the engine compartment, but that sound suspicious to me. I would go to the auto supply house and buy a repair manual for the make model and year of the vehicle and get all tools and parts while there that way there is no doubt and you have it for future reference. But I have provided info on how to change you fuel filter I know the answer to that for sure. On the 2001 mercury grand marquis and the fuel filter is under the passenger side rear door right inside of the frame.when you replace it should take about 1 hour to find and 5 minutes to replace. The fuel line comes out of the fuel tank, underneath the car traveling diagonal towards the passenger side of the car.Right before an elbow in the line inside the frame rail, underneath the rear passenger door is your filter there are clips on either end of the filter sort of snap off downward, tug on them with some force, they'll snap down.Have a pan beneath the area.Wear personal safety protection , i.e. glove and safety glasses/goggles.. Be ready for gas to run out.it is only the little bit left in the filter.Pull the lines off and discard the filter properly.Put the lines on the new filter and put the snaps securely back on. Try starting your car let it idle a little while and then turn off your car and clean up your work area and you are all done...

If I can help more let me know.

Hope that helps please rate/score and or place a testimonial to my advice.

I need "step by step" instructions on how to replace the fuel filter on my 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup. Thanks !

Here you go if it is a diesel:
A. FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT:
The fuel filter is located inside of the fuel filter housing
1. Unscrew and remove fuel filter cap at top of fuel filter housing. To unscrew, attach tool to 6-sided hex center of cap. Do not loosen cap at outer edge. The fuel filter cap is designed to remove filter while pulling up on cap.
2. Remove O-ring from cap and discard.
3. The filter is retained to cap with little fingers. Carefully pry a couple of them off from old filter.
B. FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT:
1. Thoroughly clean inside of filter housing, cap, etc. with clean diesel fuel
2. Fill filter housing (canister) with clean diesel fuel. NOTE: If you do not do this, you will have to manually bleed air out of system later. No fun.
3. Snap new fuel filter to bottom of cap.
4. Install new O-ring
5. Apply lihgt film of clean diesel oil to cap O-ring
6. Load filter/cap into housing.
7. Tighten cap to 25 ft. lbs. torque. Do NOT over-tighten.

Fuel filter replacement for 2001 isuzu rodeo

Under vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame in fuel line

Fuel filters and elements are serviced by replacement only. Some vehicle manufacturers recommend fuel filter replacement at 30,000 miles (48,000 km). Always replace the fuel filter at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended mileage.
The fuel filter replacement procedure varies depending on the make and year of the vehicle and the type of fuel system. Always follow the filter replacement procedure in the appropriate service manual. The photo sequence below shows a typical procedure for relieving fuel pressure and removing a fuel filter.

Installing Fuel Filters
In-line fuel filters are installed in the fuel line. In carbureted engines, the in-line gasoline filter is usually installed between the fuel pump and the carburetor. In vehicles with a fuel injection system, the location of the fuel filter is determined by the manufacturer. An arrow on the filter shows the direction of fuel flow.
  • To install a new filter, begin by wiping the male tube ends of the new filter with a clean shop towel.
  • Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male tube ends on the filter.
  • Check the quick connectors to be sure the large collar on each connector has rotated back to the original position. The springs must be visible on the inside diameter of each quick connector.
  • Then install the filter in the proper direction and leave the mounting bolt slightly loose.
  • Install the outlet connector onto the filter outlet tube and press the connector firmly in place until the spring snaps into position.
  • Grasp the fuel line and try to pull this line from the filter to be sure the quick connector is locked in place.
  • Then, do the same with the inlet connector.
  • Now tighten the filter retaining bolt to the specified torque.
  • Once everything is connected, lower the vehicle, start the engine, and check for fuel leaks at the filter.

The clamps are just a secondary lock, special tools are needed to unlock the fuel lines.

Location of fuel filter

The fuel filter is located under the body,at the drivers door, on the frame. It looks like a round silver(or black depending on manufacturer) canister with lines coming in from both ends.
It has snap connectors for the lines. To disconnect the lines, you must squeeze the connectors with small pliers (Ford has a tool for this) while pulling the lines out.
Be VERY careful because the fuel will pour out when the lines come off.
Release the filter bracket (5/16ths nut-driver) to remove the filter.
Replace the new filter into the bracket - make sure the 'flow' arrow is pointing forward
Push the lines in until you hear a click and you're finished
