SOURCE: how to replace a coolant level sensor, 2000 buick century

The coolant level sensor is located on the radiator. If you are looking at the engine from the front of the car it will be on the left side. There will some kind of clip holding it in the radiator. Removed the clip and pull the sensor out. You will lose coolant so try to swap it out quick or drain some of the coolant out. Once new sensor is installed, install clip to keep the sensor in place and reconnect the wires to the sensor. Crank the engine and make sure the coolant level is full. This should correct your problem.

Where are the temperature sending units located in a 1992 Buick Century

On the 2.5 4cyl. The temp. sensor is located on the
transmission side of the engine below the coolant outlet. The temp sending unit is in the head in front of
the coolant outlet. On the 3.3 v6 the temp sensor is on the right side of the engine below the alternator.
The temp sending unit is to the left of the sensor.
Hope this helps.

Hello jameli_noman: My name is Roger and I will help you. The radiator has a sensor in it that is supposed to since low coolant. A couple of things can cause a problem. 1. The sensor is working and coolant is low. 2. Coolant sensor is defective. 3. Coolant sensor is contaminated by oil deposits. I would look at #3. If you were low on coolant? The coolant had to of gone somewhere. Look close at the corners of the intake manifold. Where the intake meets the cylinder heads. If you see what looks like a slimy oozy build up and you should see traces of coolant in this mess. You have a intake gasket causing the problem. This leak will let minute amounts of oil into the coolant system. This will cause the sensor to be contaminated. You can disconnect the sensor. But this defeats the early warning of low coolant and engine damage. Should you have any more questions please just ask. I will reply. Please rate the answer as this way I know it was of use. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Buick 1999 century replaced the sensor light and still comes on.

your buick century has a low coolant level sensor located in the passenger side of the radiator , sometiomes the sensor get covered with coolant sludge and will show that the cooling system is not filled , sometime the radiator is just still low on coolant . check the radiator when the engine is cold ( IF HOT WAIT !!! 30 mins ) and make sure the level is above the sensor.

You might want to check the ECT (engine coolant temperature sensor) It could be defective and telling the PCM (car's computer) that the engine coolant is cold all the time.
