Theres only three basic things that make an engine run.... spark, air and fuel
It starts, therefore you have spark
It runs briefly, you may not have enough air, check your air filter/intake
It then dies, you may have a fuel restriction or are losing your fuel prime, a leak or a bad seal and its sucking air into the fuel system

4.3 93 chev turck won't stay running is it the throtle positioner. it sputters like it is running out of gas and even when I work the throttle I can't keep it running

Diesel? sounds like an air lock in the fuel system, you may have a leaking injector sucking in air or if you recently had the fuel filter changed its not been bled through correctly. I would check there is no air in the system first.

Hope this helps

90 Cherokee Laredo 4.0 Replaced the throttle body, and fuel pump. When it starts it revs up to 2100 RPM's then dies.

Fuel system should be ok. check for air leaks around throttle body, make sure TBI gasket or o-ring are not sucking air which will cause high RPM's, also check for vaccum leaks.
