ok we need to see if there is spark going to the spark plug and if there is feul at the fuel rail. sounds like you lose . it could be an ignition coil or a crank position sensor

I have 1992 plymouth colt vista ans its hard starting what could it be

I am assuming you mean it cranks for along time before it starts. This is most likely low fuel pressure- which means that most likely the electric fuel pump in the tank is worn out. The fuel pressure can be checked at the fuel rail- should show at least 30 lbs at idle-and if the pressure regulator is working the pressure will increase as the gas pedal is pressed down. That is the best I can do given that your question is not very specific.

make sure all the electrical connectors to the trans are properly connected. One of these plugs is for the shift control solenoids- not properly connected = no shifting. This happened during the repair operation which is why the car worked fine before the water pump was replaced.

Starts fine & stops in 3-5 minutes or driving in 1-3 miles.

Did you replaced your whole distributor or just the cap and the rotor? Have you check the pressure on you fuel line it could be your fuel pump.

in most cases the reason it's of two things. either your catalytic converter is plugged or you are losing fuel either from a plugged filter or a bad fuel pump. wouldn't be a bad idea to check the air filter also.
