95 4 runner rough idle at start

Hi, 1994 4-runner hard-start after 3-4 hrs......All the above are good possibilities and should be checked.....I don't know what changing to E3 means exactly, but if it means changing the spark-plugs, it could be that the plugs are too cold or too hot ....it is probably best to stay with the factory recommended plugs ....some plugs are hot and some are cold ,in case you are not aware of it.......good luck with it....Frankie Don.

Will a 1988 Toyota 4 runner transmission work in a 1994 4 runner?

A salvage yard could tell you through their interchange database.
I would think the '94 has electronic shift points, doubtful about the '88. Check with an interchanger.

My 1994 Jeep Wrangler runs fine.....until it warms up. Then it loses power and starts to sputter. I have replaced plugs, wries, air and oil filters, cleaned distributer ....no improvement.

I have a 1992 subaru legacy. The last two weeks the car takes awhile to get started, only happens on the first start of the day..starts fine after that...It takes a couple of times to get it...

I think it may need to be tuned up. When it is warm it doesn't do this I gather, even a little bit warm.

Could also be a fuel delivery problem. hm.

1994 4 runner smokes when started.

if its over the fill line yes it is a problem. did you wait 5 minutes after runing the engine then check? if you did and the oil is high i would think this is a problem. you can get a trukey baster or hand pump and pump some oil out the fill cap.
