Fuel pressure specs on 2000 Nissan Altima

I don't have the specs for the Altima but looking through the range, all the Nissan specs I do have for that year are maximum 3 bar unregulated and 2.5 bar regulated, most in fact are a little less and unusually the actual pressures are quoted to two decimal places, such as 2.34 or 2.43 bar. Broadly, for testing it is not necessary to be as precise as that because if absolute accuracy is required the battery voltage would need to be stable, the ambient and the fuel temperature recorded and compensated for and probably the amount of fuel in the tank would make a minute difference. Such things are impractical.

The fuel pressure is important but a fuel system test would not be complete unless the fuel delivery volume has been checked in addition. That figure I don't have but a rule-of-thumb guide is 1 litre in 10 seconds is the minimum. Great care must be exercised while testing all aspects of the fuel system.

How to test fuel pressuer on a mazda 929

Find your test valve on your fuel rail (under the hood) and you will need a fuel pressure regulator gauge to check the pressure. You can also look up online the specs for the pressure recommended. You did not provide your size engine so i could not look up specs for the pressure. Hope this helps.

How can I check the fuel presure in Toyota tacoma engine 2.4

Sorry am not sure whether Tacoma engine is petrol or diesel, what age it is or what fuelling system but assuming it is a conventional petrol injection system, the fuel pressure test is just one of four tests carried out when a problem with fuel delivery is suspected and begins with fitting the appropriate adaptors to the fuel line and then fitting a pressure gauge.

It is not just the correct fuel pressure(s) needed for satisfactory engine performance but also sufficient fuel volume.

Before carrying out the tests is is usually necessary to fit a switch in place of the fuel pump relay so the pump can be started with an open line and the engine switched off. The amount of fuel delivered into an appropriate container in a set time is measured and compared with specs.

The next test is the peak pressure test - a momentary test with a closed fuel line to test the mechanical strength of the pump and lines.

The next test is the regulated pressure test with the fuel line again connected to the engine and the enriched pressure recorded and compared with specs and finally the engine is started or vacuum applied to the regulator valve with a hand pump and the lean or normal pressure is recorded.

With some older engines it is possible to easily install a pressure gauge with universal adaptors but as later engines tend to use quick release fittings an number of special adaptors will be needed.

Engine code p191 2003 mercury sable 3.0

P0191 is fuel rail pressure sensor or circuit low input. This indicates that fuel pressure is too low or the sensor is faulty or the circuit is at fault The fuel pressure should be tested to see if it is spec.and circuit test preformed the location of this sensor and testing needed to make an accurate repair requires some degree of skill and someone that is comfortable doing this type of diagnostic repair

How to check fuel pressure

With a fuel pressure gauge. If there is a test port called a schraeder valve on the fuel rail on top of the engine, it's easy. If no test port, you have to tee off the fuel line somewhere convenient (like right after the fuel filter) and hook your gauge up there. Hook the gauge up, make sure of no leaking, turn key to on, and read the pressure (it will read the same pressure in the line as at the fuel rail). Check pressure with key on, and then with engine running- if at the specs for your vehicle, it's good. If pressure is below specs, pinch off or pull off the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, and see if pressure raises. If it does, try another pressure regulator. If no change, check the fuel return line for restrictions, check or replace the fuel filter, or suspect a poor performing fuel pump. On MPFI systems the pressure should be about 50 psi, but find the specs for your vehicle.

My Car turns off while its driving

Only way to be sure pump is working to specs is to have the fuel pressure tested. And to be sure it's not a fuel problem, test the pressure after the engine shuts off on its own. If fuel pressure is still at spec, it is likely an ignition problem-coil, ignition module, crank position sensor, cam position sensor-something like that. If fuel pressure is gone or too low, suspect a failing fuel pump.

Takes a long time to start wen it starts it blowes raw fule out the exhaust

First, is the engine in good condition? meaning compression ok, tuned properly, does it run smooth and not burn any more than 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles or better? If yes do the following tests:
Check the fuel pressure with a gauge before starting engine and look for
1. Correct regulated pressure
2. Tme to attain regulated presssure
3. How long it holds pressure when shut off, these specs vary from engine to engine, so consault the dealer or a repair manual for correct specs on fuel pressure test resaults
