SOURCE: Knock Sensor installation for 2003 Honda Pilot

I don't know where the knock sensor is exactly on this engine, but if you buy the replacement first it will help you identify it.

It's screwed into the block near the head or the head itself. It has an electrical connector attached to it (two wires, I believe).

The replacement is pretty simple: remove the electrical connector from the old one; screw it out with a wrench; screw the new one in and; plug the connector onto it.

SOURCE: my 2003 honda pilot is difficult to shift into

There could be a number of issues with a Honda Pilot not shifting into drive. In fact, I had this problem with my 2003 Honda Pilot two weeks ago and had to replace my transmission. More than 100,000 2003 Honda Pilots were recalled in 2004 because of a transmission problem -- was your Honda part of that recall? If so, Honda may help you with some of the costs.

If the problem is not with the transmission, I suggest making sure that your steering column is not locked. You will also notice that on the top of the steering column is a small plate. If you remove the plate and press down with a coin, you can unlock the steering column, enabling you to shift into drive.

Hopefully these solutions will help...but be sure to see your auto service shop for more details on your situation.

2003 Honda pilot driver's door actuator replacement

Below are the instructions. They are pretty detailed almost to the point of being confusing so I would read over them a couple of times before trying to do it. I can tell you from experience that you need to be careful when moving the rods out of your way to be careful not to bend them. Hope this helps.....

2003 Honda pilot door locks and remote not working

There is a small electric motor inside the actuator assembly that has probably "burned out". Same problem with my 03 pilot. The remote would not lock the other doors or arm the security system unless you physically locked the driver's side door. Eventually my passenger side burned out as well. Fixed it myself pretty easily. Cheap fix too. works like new now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/120935451126?var=420082237231&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I have two 2003 honda pilot remotes for the doors and they are not working on all doors they will lock all doors but the left front door and will not ove any. should i reprogram the remotes

This is not a problem with the remotes. It probably doesn't work with the door lock switch either. I had the same problem and it is the power lock actuator. The problem is that the replacement part it is not just an actuator - It is the whole door latch. I replaced mine and you will need a hand impact driver to remove the 3 screws that hold the latch on the edge of the door. The Haynes manual will give you the steps with some pictures.

The power door locks on my 2003 Honda Pilot for both the drivers and passangers side do not work. I have to manually raise and lower the locks. The fob and the swith on the door do not work. Help

The Power locks actuators need to be replaced. I did on my front passenger door already. A friend of mine had to do it in the 2 passenger side doors. The part is the whole door latch mechanism. You will need a hand impact driver to remove the 3 screws on the door jamb.

Hi ,is it possible that the rear doors lock actuators stop working at the same time and should be both replaced or there might be other cause rather than the actuators it self?

see if power reaches the actuators when using the lock/unlock, if it does, the actuators are dead , you can test it by removing the door panel and disconnecting the wires going to the actuator and using a test light or a voltmeter on the wires, (if there is only one wire its the positive terminal)

WHERE IS THE THERMOSTAT LOCATED IN 2001 HONDA PILOT

Honda didn't make the Pilot until 2003. Check th year. On the 2003 model you can find it on the driver's side of the engine where the lower radiator hose connects at the engine. Hope this helps,...ZMANRACING
