SOURCE: no fire or spark

I think you have the VORTEC set-up, look at the CKP & CMP sensor, ECT, TP sensor, IAC, ignition switch, blown fuse/s, timing chain, Bad ground to engine, bad distribtor, bad spark-plug, wires, or distributor cap & rotor. What is the "rotary button"? Well let me know if I can be of anymore help.

SOURCE: I have replaced the ignition coil, rotary button,

If you have the tools, remove the ignition control module (inside the distributor). You can bring it down to AUTO-ZONE and they will test it for free. Other stores may be able to do it too. Is this issue constant, when does it happen? Check the fuse box, ECT, IAC, TP, and the ignition switch. Let me know if that helped at all.

SOURCE: 1998 2.4 starts but idles bad the #2 plug not firing the gas.

black smoke is usually fuel...white is usually coolant...you may have a warped cylinder head or some other mechanical problem. do a compression test. If you disable the #2 injector does smoke continue? if it does, it's not fuel. When you remove #2 spark plug, is it wet? if so what's on it?

My crown vic turning over but wont crank never did this before

The most likely cause is a bad ignition coil, remove the coil wire from the distributor and attach an old spark plug to it, have a helper crank the engine, and see if the spark plug fires. If the plug does not fire then the coil is bad. If the plug fires, remove a plug wire from a spark plug and repeat the process. If no spark then the distributor cap may be bad? Also have you ruled out no gas???

I have a 1966 VW Beetle that I can't get to start. Just replaced the ignition coil and condenser and still nothing. The Beetle has 1600cc engine and 12 volt electrical system.

Check fuse boxes to see if you have an ignition fuse or start fuse, alot of cars have have them, see if they are blown and test to see if its firing by removing plug wire from spark plug and inserting end of screwdriver in plug wire and hold screwdriver about 1/2 inch from any metal surface while someone spins engine over, if there is no spark jumping from screw driver to the metal surface its not firing, and if it is firing check to see if its getting gas, if not getting any gas check fuel pump fuse to see if itsblown. Hope this helps. Billy Wyatt

My 2000 Chrysler 300m wont start it turns over but wont fire its getting gas but wont fire

Are you certain it's getting gas, does it smell flooded?
Pull one of the plugs, see if its wet after cranking.
Ground plug and check for spark, if no spark, problem could be crank sensor or coil packs.

I can't get my 1992 Chev S10 2.5 liter to fire. What could be the problem?

It could be alot of things but I would try one thing at a time starting with the coil wire, then the cap and rotor. It could be the coil itself. If you havent worked on it before it happened then it is probably the ignition module inside the cap. It has a spark control and a knock sensor among other things that have alot to do with the spark. Theres a pick-up coil in the distributer that sometimes shorts out. But vary rarely. If you have a multi meter and some time there are tests to check out everything. You need to go in a line backwards so that you can run the problem down. Pull a plug and plug it in to the wire and set the bottom of the plug on something metal on the engine, spin the engine over and look for it to spark against the metal. Just be super careful because a spark needs a drop of gas , to BOOM you get to learn how to stop a fire. That kinda tells you if the plug is good. Then pull the plug off and stick a nail in the wire and ground the nail and spin it and see if you get a spark if not then move up to the coil wire. And so on and so on until you find a spark. If you have a test light check to see if you get power to the distributer , if you do and it wont spark then its most likely the ignition modual.

My car is not starting anymore the plugs keep getting soak with gasoline does anybody know why?

The fuel soaked plugs are what's called "flooding". You need to troubleshoot the ignition system, my guess is that you're not getting spark to fire the cylinders. Was this a gradual thing or did it just fail one day?

Truck started hesitating while going down the road. It felt like it was not getting gas. It just stopped and would not do anything but spin over. It is getting gas but will not run.

if you getting fuel than you must not getting any sparks, check all coil, coil good than check cam sensor, cam sensor sense the cam turning and send info to ecu, ecu than tell coil to disperse sparks to the plugs.

1991 Honda Civic STILL won't start

if your not getting spark then your coil is the mostlikely cause it's obviously not a timing issue since you stated that the rotor is spinning. if the spark plugs are bad then replace them too . to be sure that your getting spark to all cylinders test each of the spark plugs after replacing the coil. just to besure it's not starving for fuel as well spray a little ether in the breather if it fires off right away that means the even though your fuel pump works it may not have a high enough pressure. let me know the results

1988 Chevy Van No Spark

Have you put a spark plug fire tester on the plug wire and verified there is no fire at the plugs or do you just figure because it is getting gas if must be an issue with the fire. I ask this because the age of the truck it may have a plugged converter or muffler on the truck and if one of them are plugged it won't allow the engine to pull the fuel into the cylinders and fire. You can remove the 02 sensor ahead of the cat and the truck will start if one of them is plugged up. The truck will not run well but it will start and run ruff. Hope this helps.
