First..napa will exchange your alternator no charge... your stuck with labor again.....and no.. no internal to external port to lube on most alternators anymore...only place it can be done would be the bearing at the base of the case anyway....your best solution is to use a competent rebuilder rather than off the shelf part.......mainly sure that the alternator is the ReAL issue and not some close (physical) related reciprocating part..(belt ,pulley, a/c, power acc, fan, belt belt etc.... good luck

How to open the trunk on 2004 Jaguar XJR. The battery is dead.

Hi Manuel:
Is it possible to open the hood?
If so, you should be able to attach jumper cables (Alternator or Relay?) to get the switches powered up. I'm assuming the trunk latch is electrical.

Need help replacing rear disc brakes on a 2006 XJR. I cannot get the brake piston to retract. Does it rotate?

Have you tried releasing the pressure within the brake cylinder. You will need to do this by loosening the bleeder valve or loosening the brake line going to the caliper.

Remanufactured alternator (for a 1995 BMW 325is) humming

It sounds like one of the high-current diodes has failed and the rest of the alternator is trying to supply current into a shorted diode. Any chain auto parts store will check it free if you remove it.

01' Jaguar XJR Starter location?

If you get just a click you should first check battery charge and all battery connections. The click is probably the solenoid kicking in but without enough battery to turn over the engine.
