I have a clunk in front end. replaced the sway bar bushings twice, had the strut mounts checked said they were good, was told it might be the ball joints but have to let it get worse, had the sway bar links replaced. can hear on both sides,does it on every bump

the sway bar is a bar that runs acrossed the front of the van from strut to strut. It is bolted to the cradel and then has links that run from the bar to the strut to increase stability. The sway bar bushings are rubber mounts that hold the bar down to the cradel. The bar runs though the mounts one each side where the bar and the cradel meet. If they are wore out you will normally hear a clucking noise from the front end when you hit bumps. To remove and replace them there is two bolts that hold a steel cap on top of them on each side. Remove the cap from both sides then the rubber mounts will have a split in them so you can get them off the bar. To install them is just the reverse of the removal. It could be a couple of things.
Loose or worn out strut - (jack up car, remove tire and shake the strut really hard to see if it's loose. Check for signs of leaking or damage to strut)
Missing rubber isolator under front spring (visually inspect the suspension while tire is off).
Broken sway bar mount or missing rubber in the mount on the frame. (Lay under the front and look for where the sway bar mounts to the frame. Make sure everything is tight and the rubber is still in it.
It could be the sway bar bushing, sway bar end link bushings, or the strut mount bushing worn and needs to be replaced. Check with your local dealership to see if it's still under warranty or any recall issues with this problem. Front stabilizer/sway bar bushings sound worn. I had same, on my 91'. Felt like someone was thumping the floor under my feet sometimes. I managed to get away with spinning the outer ones at control arms, but replaced ones in middle at frame.
Check the macpherson struts to ensure they are not loose. One way to check is visually in the engine compartment. Check the top of the struts to ensure the nuts are not loose. Another is to raise the side of the van where you hear the clunk. Raise it so the wheel is off the ground. Grasp and shake the strut to see if it is loose. The struts should not be loose, but you never know. As the strut is certainly ivnolved in bumps and rotates when the wheel turns, I would check there since you have already explored the bushings and links.
I had the same problem with my 2002 Town and Country Limited. I took it to the mechanic and had the sway bar links and ball joints replaced and still had the same clunking noise when going over bumps at low speeds. The van sounded great on the highway, but country roads were horrible. I was about to replace the struts and pay another 700 dollars when i read somewhere that the sway bar bushings could wear and cause the noise. I took it to the mechanic and he said absolutely not it would be a waste of money. Being the stubborn guy I am, I went to NAPA and bought the two bushings for 12 dollars and replaced them myself in an hour. I took the van for a test ride and the noise is completely gone. Please ignore your mechanic and replace the bushings ASAP! Pretty cheap try even if it doesn't work.
Had similar problem with 2003 Dodge GC. Replaced the parts you mention + rack & pinion, then to fix the now noticable whining noise, replaced power steering pump and pulley. Fortunately was under an extended warrentee at 46k miles.
