Question about 2006 Ford Taurus

Check transmission When driving, my car, a 2005 used ford taurus is very hesistant when i push on the gas pedal. The rpm shoots to about 4-4.5 when trying to accelerate at less than 40 mph. check transmission appeared. I have no idea what to do. I am afraid I will blow something out.

If you have over 40,000 miles on the car it may be due for a tune up and new drive belt

Ford windstar problems


Possibly a vacuum leak. I'd try checking the hose going to the PCV valve as it's a common problem with Ford engines. They generally collapse and melt a hole through the rubber elbow on the valve end but have seen the opposite end do the same thing on occasion.

it could b just the acklator cable that slipped of the throttle body
look under hooh a have someone press on the acc and see if anythingis moving

When driving my 92 Taurus the rpm's raise temporaily the come back down


Transmission Problem-- depending on what
your trying to discribe
If your riding along steady on the gas & the rpm flairs
your done, it has to be rebuilt
If your on & off the gas then the cable on the throttle
body may need adjustment or you need to change your
driving habits with the gas pedal
Could also be a bad or loose brake switch or TTC Switch

4,000 rpm just pushing the gas pedal ?

The transmission is slipping

No fix but to have it rebuilt

check your transmission fluid level first.Do you feel a thug movement while shifting from park to drive?or from park to reverse?if none of these your transmission needs to be check

Yep a transmisson problem have the oil and filter changed on the transmission.

STARTED MY 2002 FORD TAURUS THIS MORNING AND...


Check throttle cable for fraying /binding. Check for vacuum leaks, check tps and any idle control motors fro proper operation, check throttle plate for carbon buildup.
