SOURCE: HOW TO INSTALL AMP INTO A FACTORY RADIO IN DODGE DURANGO 2002

You can buy adaptor plugs that allow a simple hook up at most car stereo places.  However, when you increase the power going to the speakers you also have to replace the speakers to handle the higher power or you'll toast them.

SOURCE: cd player quit working after i changed the battery radio still works fine.

kzingraff, I have a similar situation to Craig Waldie. I have a 2005 Durango and the CD player has not worked since I replaced the battery. Just like his 2004, the radio works perfectly, just not able to use the CD player. How can this issue be fixed?

Resetting my Dodge Durango 2004 radio after installing now battery I get no volume

Replacing the battery in your Durango involves removing the terminals. When you reconnect the terminals, your radio presets are likely to be cleared out. In some Durangos, you may need to re-enter a security code to get your radio to work again. Check for this code in your owners manual - it will usually be either a sticker or small card in the booklet. If you can't find it, call Dodge and they will give you the code for free. In many Dodges, the transmission "learns" how you drive over time and makes adjustments, so you may experience altered driving dynamics as your car re-learns your driving style after changing the battery.

No volume on radio

Hi Lawrencemerl,

There can be 2 conditions for your problem:

1. The speakers or their connections are gone bad
2. The volume control unit has gone bad.

Please check and replace the appropriate one and it will work fine.

Regards,
Nat

cable from radio going to speakers loose or disconnected, also the radio inside has a fuse that might be blown, not allowing the sound to come out

My back speaker doesn´t work,, everything is

It sounds like it's your radio if it's the OEM. To make it somple the factory radio had there separate amp muilt in each chanel so if one speaker went bad the others woudl still play. There is no quick fix other then haveing it replaced or if have it repaired.Good luck and just dubble check all the connections

Dodge durango cd changer

I had the same problem. Repair was more than replacing radio. Go to Crutchfield for good prices. Remember if you have the Infinity sound system you will need another $65 for a box to activate your cars amps and speakers.
