HAVE A 1999 TRACKER. IT IS GETTING VACUUM TO THE ACTUATOR ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. NO LEAKS IN ANY TUBES OR HOSES. THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT SPINS BUT DOESN'T ENGAGE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL AND HENCE THE 4WD DOESN'T WORK. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS IN THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. IS IT POSSIBLE TO LACK VACUUM IN THE DIFFERENTIAL? I have a 1995 Legacy LS 4 cyl 4 speed automatic, 201k. I had the transmission fluid and filter changed on Thursday, 12/18/09. It was over full at the time I changed it. Got it back and it ran well for a day. Since Friday, it has on occasion lurched and shuddered trying to get into gear (out of first and/or second). I don't know what it means or what is causing this. Any help is appreciated.
