SOURCE: my check engine light comes on my 2004 Honda Civic

There are may reasons for the check engine lamp to come on.
When the computer detects a failure in the fuel management system it sets a code and turns on the lamp.
Many Auto parts houses will offer to scan the computer to pull the code. When you get the code repost your problem with the code number, so we can help with proper diagnosis

SOURCE: What would cause all these 2004 toyota camry v6

Have the following checked for proper operation: Mass Airflow sensor (its located on the air filter box), oxygen sensors. If ok, I would recommend having the wires checked for possible damage from rodents biting on them.

That's because the car is putting itself into "limp"mode. Take it some where to have the code read without the code number it tells me nothing.

Honda civic 2004 check engine light is on can't get it to turn off with a hand held code reader. Reader says there are no codes in the hand held. but the check engine light stays on?

Futher diagnosis may be in order. If there truly is "no Codes" you need to find out why the computer is turning the light on. I would have the dealer or a shop that works on a lot of Honda's look at it.
