Air ride suspension is not getting current to the compresser

The 1999 lincoln had a leak in the left rear air bag and caused the compresser to burn the fuse out. after replacing the fuse the system will not function. also I am unable to inflat the system with an alternate air compresser.

Yes. But need additional help. I am told that there is no current getting to the pump? Does this make sense? thanks.

Our mechanic says that both the pump and the air bags are OK but the system does not inflate because there is no current going to the system to activate it. Any help is appreciated

Run a jumper wire from battery positive to top of fuse #12 in underhood fuse panel- turn the ignition key on run and touch power to fuse. If compressor does run disconnect battery and take distribution box apart- very common for wire inside box to corrode at bottom of fuse and not make good contact. New connectors are available from dealer.

I would suggest a salvage yard and replace the bag I would also check the compresser and get a 12volt tester and test all the curcuits because if it burned out a fuse you may have an opened curcuit somewhere

Air ride suspension leaking in rear of car is their a better solution than air ride...my car is a 1994 continental has 104k runs great thats the only thing wrong is the air ride suspension...

It is possible to go with conventional springs/shocks instead of the air ride system. This has become a common "fix" for faulty air bags due to the expense. The ride will still be great, you will only lose the load leveling ability that the air bags provided.

What is the common issue regarding the air bags for the suspension?

there is a ride hieght sensor on rear lower control arms creck for damage and connection.over load rear suspention,4/5 people on back bumper with key on see if pumps up.also check fuses.try jumping compress to test compressor.worst case replace struts and use coil springs, eliminating air ride issues.

If rearbag has a hole will this affect start ing? Depletes charge in new battery

You will have to turn the air ride system off until the bag is fixed. Otherwise the pump will run continuously trying to fill the bag. This will obviously kill the battery.

My 98 cadillac rear air suspension will not left the car ?

You may have a bigger problem than you are looking for. Often times with these air systems there are air lines and air bags that dry rot and crack there for causing leaks everywhere. This can burn out your compressor. These problems can be very costly. I replaced the compressor twice before I was told that my lines on the car were no good anymore and the air bags had leaks too. Instead of paying over $1000 to fix the air ride, I went with a non air conversion system from Strutmasters. It was cheaper than fixing the air problem and it it rides great! A lot less headaches with it that is for sure.

My rear suspension falls all the way down overnight

the car falling down means there is a leak in the air bag or lines and bleeds down over night, if u lift car in the air after it blows up you can spray the bags and lines with soapy water and look for bubbles. once leak is found you replace the broken line or bag, fix soon or air pump will start to over work and burn out or wear out and be very expensive to replace.
the code numbers would help with engine problem was it too lean?

Check air suspension system problem

sounds like one of the rear air bags is leaking and if you get under car and spray with soapy water from spray bottle you can find leak and replace bag or line that is leaking. turning off the pump is not a good idea the rear bags will deflate and cause the car to ride too low and cause damage bottoming out. also if the leak is not fixed soon the air compressor will run too constantly and burn out/wear out and very expansive to replace.
