SOURCE: where is the freeze plug located on a 3.8 ford

2 plugs on each side of the motor, under the exhaust manifold center of block you cant miss them. Tap them gently on the sides to turn them, then pry them off. Do not drop them inside the engine thus they are impossible to remove.

I have a 97 ford mustang i just changed the pats module the anti theft light is not showing at all on the dash. The car cranks right up but shuts off after about 1 sec. what could it be can you or someone help

There are 6 on the block and 2 or more on each head. Getting the ones on the back of the heads are the tough ones.

The freeze plugs are located down the side of the block on 4 cyl and down both sides on V6 and V8 motors

Location of the number 5 cylinder


when looking at motor from front ......4-5-6 are front of motor...1-2-3 on back of motor by fire wall ....#5 is center plug on front of engine
