2002 f250 headlights stay on

If you unplug the brake light switch on the pedal do the lights go off ?

I would start with checking the on/off switch itself first.

Try unhooking one of the battery cables and leave it off for at least 20 minutes. When you hook it back up the computers should re-boot. That has solved problems for me with heater, interior lites, power windows, AC, day time running lites, power mirrors, fast idle, rough or slow shifting, CD player, and wipers on GM autos and S-10 PU and Dodge trucks. None of the switches are connected to the device they control anymore. The switch tells the computer to open the window and the computer sends a signal to the window motor. When the computer gets confused strange things will happen or not happen. Things like one headlight stays off etc. I actually had to do it twice on my Bonneville because the first time the AC blower would only work in low and medium. After the second re-boot, everything was fine. Of course you may have to re-set your radio stations.

check your bulbs

Unplug the connector on the headlight and turn the collar counterclockwise and pull out on it , pull out on the bulb and it will come out. Don't touch the new bulb with you fingers oil from your skin gets on the bulb, shortens the life of the new bulb

take off the fender bolts and the wheel well bolts take out headlight bolts behind the headlight then it should come off

check the dimmer switch i bet ya $10 its bad

i know this will sound weird but, spray WD-40 in all the door latches (door side). I mean ALOT of it .Open and close all the doors many times and that will solve the prob. :)

check all your door jamb switches first. If the driver door does not close the door jamb switch all the way, it will keep the radio on for 30 minutes.
