Chk your coolant level. If it is low your heat wont work very well if really low it wont work at all. You could still have enough to not over heat and still be low.

The heater kicks on but only blows cold air

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

I put a new thermostat in my 1994 ford escort, and still dont have warm heat while my heater is on. How do I test to see if I have a bad waterpump?

If it where your water pump isthe vehicle would overheat. After you replaced the thermostat do you run the engine at idle with the radiator cap removed until the radiator fan came one? This will help push the air out of the system. There are two other possibilities. 1. The heater core is plugged. Back flushing the heater core may help remove the built up debris and get you heat again. 2. The blend door may not be fully transitioning from cold to hot. You should be ale to hear a district change in how the air sounds when switching from full hot to full cold. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. 1982 cordoba blows cold air ,no heat inside, the slide bar for hot and cold seems to have broken inside the dash ,how can i get heat in car ,the car has never been winter driven, seems some kind of door...

the valve that control the heat is run by a cable from your heater assembly is located out under the hood, follow the two heater hoses to the fire wall, you will see one hose has a valve in it,one position lets water flow, the other doesn't.

Heater problem

Ok, some clues, good. When the jeep has been driven for 10minutes, it should be at operating temperature. What does the temp. gauge indicate at that time? Is it on the low (cold) side, in the middle (normal) or near the hot end of the temp. gauge? Let me know the answer to the above, also check to coolant level and let me know what you find. If the coolant level is low, it can result in the engine running hot, and result in no heat. When the level is low, it won't circulate coolant through the heater core, which means you won't have heat. So let me know about the engine temp, and the coolant level, this is the easiest and simplest possibility of why you don't have heat. If this isn't the problem, do not rate my answer until I can help further after I get the above info from you.

Heater not warming up during idle

check fluid level, sounds low. if that's not it, sounds like a clog in the heating system or pump going bad.

1989 maxima no heat in vehicle

Put your hand on the heater hoses as close to the fire wall as possible find out if both hoses are hot.Do this when the vehicle is cold allow car to heat up with heater open and running. If both equaly hot then heater core at fault. If different check water supply to cold hose.
