P0183 Subaru Description
The fuel tank temperature sensor is used to detect the fuel temperature inside the fuel tank. The sensor modifies a voltage signal from the ECM. The modified signal returns to the ECM as the fuel temperature input. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increase

this sensor is in the fuel tank on the fuel pump assembly. If you look under the carpet behind the rear passenger seat, you should see a sort of rectangular access cover. Underneath this cover is the connector to the fuel pump. Make sure that all looks good. Could just be a bad connection. Sometimes when you have the fuel filter replaced a place will unhook this connector. When it's reconnected it might not be fully seated or have a bent pin or something

code PO188 fuel temperature sensor b high input. that means fuel rail temperature sensor circuit high input.fuel temperature sensor located on left of fuel rail just ahead of fuel supply line pipe.

Where is the location of the fuel temperature sensor on a 1997 nissan truck??????


The Temperature sensor is part of the fuel pressure regulator assembly.
To replace the FTS (fuel Temperature Senor) you have to replace the entire FPR Assembly as well.
The FPR Assembly is located in the engine bay on your truck.
Yours may look whitish color or tarnished. this is due to being weathered.

The signal generated can also be sent to the temperature gauge as a visual indicator of overheating and imminent danger

I checked with autozone.com and their site says that the engine temperature sensor is not used on both engine sizes available for this vehicle.

The Coolant Temperature Sensor is used though. So maybe it has a dual purpose on your vehicle.

More fuel is needed if the engine is cold; less if it's hot. If the temperature is extreme, the signal will be sent to the temperature gauge as a visual indicator of overheating and imminent danger.

Because ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor procedures vary depending upon their location, first locate the part. You may need to partially drain the engine coolant to prevent coolant spillage.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Unplug the ECT.
  • Then, unscrew it.
  • Reverse the removal procedures to install the new part.
  • Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.

Where is the iat sensor located on a 1999 chevy cavalier 4cyl


The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor determines the air temperature inside the intake manifold. Resistance changes in response to the ambient air temperature. The sensor has a negative temperature coefficient. As the temperature of the sensor rises the resistance across the sensor decreases. This provides a signal to the PCM indicating the temperature of the incoming air charge. This sensor helps the PCM to determine spark timing and air/fuel ratio. Information from this sensor is added to the pressure sensor information to calculate the air mass being sent to the cylinders. The IAT is a two wire sensor, a 5-volt reference signal is sent to the sensor and the signal return is based upon the change in the measured resistance due to temperature.

What is an ETC sensor?


The sensor he is referring to is an engine coolant temperature sensor.
This sensor tell the computer the temperature of the coolant so the computer knows the correct amount of fuel to deliver for the operating temperature of the engine.
When the sensor fails, you will likely experience abnormal idle/performance while the engine is cold at startup, as well as increased fuel consumption sometimes to the extent of black, fuel rich exhaust smoke.
The sensor is located on the water neck/thermostat housing.

WHy do you think you need to replace it? They seldom go bad. Fuel Temperature Sensor Removal Remove the fuel pump; refer to Section 310-01 . Remove the fuel temperature sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector. Disconnect and remove the fuel temperature sensor from the clip.
